For room visits, you can EITHER post in here publicly or privately in your control thread. There is a max of 4 people in a room at the moment, just so y'all don't just walk around in a giant group of 12. You can chat to people in chat-threads to work out who you want to go to rooms together with, or go alone somewhere. It is a social game, so finding friends and going places together is a strategy. Lone Wolf is also a strategy. How you approach the game is up to you, and how compatible the approach feels to your given goal(s).

It is possible for people to lie in public about where they are headed, and submit contradictory instructions in the private threads, and as a result a private choice will ALWAYS override what is posted publicly here.

You will need to approach the bookstand if you wish to talk to Merrick.

Harry (Pooky) collects a fry pan and is now walking around with it. Merrick doesn't seem to care as the fry pan did not come from a till.

I realise its probably just the entrance to the spa, but still.

The stairs go down to a turnstile that seems to require some kind of ticket to go through. Perhaps you can acquire a ticket somewhere to go through there.

The space you refer to is probably just the entrance to the Spa store, which is right next to the stairs. The store is locked up at the moment, but there does appear to be someone in there, perhaps taking a spa. The windows are fairly steamed.

The Chinese store seems closed, but there are plenty of old takeaway chopsticks and some little packets of wasabi. Theres enough to share, if you want anything like that.

Charlie walks up to the dcMonalds.

The smell of cooking fills the air as Charlie takes matters into his own hands: After firing up the cooking panel he cooks up a meat patty, toasts himself a bun, and layers that bun with leafy greens, a slice of cheese, gherkins, and of course that well-done meat patty. He cleans up after himself, and leaves the dcMonalds. It wasn't built as a self service joint, but it worked.
