The armed guard has a different uniform the the floating guard. The floating guard has the same uniform as the one that dragged Pooky away earlier. The uniform is that of someone who works for the mall. You do not recognise the uniform of the other guard. They seem unrelated

The pamphlet on pentagrams suggests that you can control ghosts by placing 5 identical items in a pentagon shape, and then drawing red lines between them all. If you stand in the pentagram, you can order an evil spirit to do something for you. If the evil spirit stands in the pentagram, it is destroyed (the spirit that is)

If you recover from being knocked out, you will recover with lower health than you have previously.
You will need to find things that restore your health in shops.
