Day 1 Ends.

The nearby stream helps you to clean the blood off your clothes. A little. What it can't wash away is the paranoia.

You pass a tense morning trading speculations and theories, arguing about what you heard in the night and who was accounted for, but ultimately going in circles. A young team member by the name of Yeet takes a few minutes to wander out in the jungle for a piss and to clear their head.

By the time Yeet arrives back at the camp, the group has made up their minds. They greet Yeet with pistols and machetes drawn. The voice you hear isn't one you recognize, but the discovery of the guide's body has forced more changes upon the group than you would like. "We can handle this here, or you can take your chances in the jungle."

Yeet blinks, incredulous. "Are you kidding? Me, alone in the jungle? That's not a chance at all."

"It's a better chance than you gave our guide," somebody mumbles, and tosses a machete at Yeet's feet.

"Please." Yeet steps toward the group, but a pistol cocks, clear and cold in the noonday sun. Yeet freezes, then slowly picks up the machete and shuffles off into the trees.

Just before nightfall, you find Yeet's body in a ravine not far from the ruins. If they fell, jumped, or were pushed, you'll never know.

From the journals of sir Cal Holland.

Upon pointing out some of the strange yellow flowers that grow sporadically around this site, Bennett Stallings recalled that one of the locals at the nearby village mentioned a concoction made up of the odd plant. It was rumored to protect against various maladies of the jungle, Bennett said, as well as providing a boost to energy and other hokum of the sort you always hear in backwards cultures such as these.

Nonetheless, mister Stallings harvested some of the crop and set about the task of preparing some of the brew so that he can ascertain for himself whether its effects have any grain of truth. The process for making it is arduous and time-consuming, and the flowers themselves are sparse, so he can brew only small batches at a time. But upon imbibing, Stallings reported a rush of energy and a strange, heady feeling of invulnerability.

We have cautioned him not to test that feeling, but are intrigued to let others of our group try the brew when he can make more, since he seems to show no ill effects. Quite the contrary, while most of us have slept in a manner most undisturbable since our arrival, Stallings, since sampling his strange concoction, seems to need sleep less than ever. He is convinced that his odd drink will somehow play a role in the success of our mission, and has vowed to have as many of us as possible try it. Well, at the rate of only one or two proper drinks per day, perhaps I will be lucky enough to avoid my turn.

Day 2 Dawns.

You come to your senses standing over the sleeping body of a promising young explorer named Catboi (so named for their ability to get out of scrapes and survive in situations where others might have ended up dead.

Why are you standing here? Why is everybody else still asleep? You feel a strange compulsion and reach for the sleeping body of your comrade, but snatch your hand away at the last moment. Something is wrong. Catboi’s face looks pale, drawn.

A scream startles you, and the next thing you know the entire party is here with you. Several of them look terrified, one or two hang quietly, nervously, by the entryways. “I had a nightmare,” somebody is saying – you don’t know who, you can’t take your eyes off the still-sleeping, still-wrong shape in the sleeping bag before you. “I was running through the jungle, I was covered in blood. I was chasing somebody.”

“It was just a dream,” you say, absently reaching once again for your comrade. You draw back the cover of the sleeping bag.

Catboi doesn’t wake. The body is cold. More horrifying, the body is sunken, folded in on itself, a hollow shell collapsing inward. The organs, the blood, have all been removed.

Eaten.

You don’t know where that word came from, but you know it’s true as it echoes in your head. With dread, you realize that Yeet was innocent, and worse, that whoever killed the guide -- and now, Catboi -- is still among you.

can you expand on your reasoning for wanting to yeet this slot?

i think he knows that he has a meta of pressuring and tunneling to gauge reactions as town, and knows that people in this game know that, but the way that he's doing it in this game feels too... calculated? like he doesn't really care about the results of what he's pressuring. it feels like it's just keeping up appearances. in the scumgames of his that i've read, he also likes to aggressively push for the position of a town leader early

if roden/ydrasse are town, and i know now that me/yeet are town, i think scum would want to get in there and sheep them on their bombsolve theories, and pump them up a little bit. the way that he interacted with the bombsolving felt more like that kind of behavior than it did genuine solving

i also think his push on umlaut was poorly supported, and felt suspiciously like his earlier cases that were fake for pressure, but he claimed that this one was real

i think his play around the end of day with the switch onto yeet looks extremely bad. seeing it live i was actually convinced he was partners with yeet and bussing. it was a pretty sudden turn onto yeet and dialed way up past the point of believability, conveniently right when it seemed like there was the possibility for a wagon to form on monkey himself

plus he said himself that he is easy to sort when put under pressure. so wagoning him is a win-win

I'm not very good at changing my mind about things so it feels pro-scum for them to leave Catboi alive for him to fight with me rather than to shoot him esp if he is on a wagon that flipped a town.

It feels like they removed him for a reason.

The first 2 inoculated are confirmed innocent but the third is not so I could see this happening because the person recruited into the room yesterday was mafia.

or perhaps they had a read that Catboi was reserved because he was a mason.

or perhaps they wanted to remove him to remove his voice because he was blocking pushes they want.

I like to think about why things happen.

if i'm reading the setup correctly

we start with 2 town inoculated, they inoculated someone yesterday(unknown alignment)

so if this person they inoculated yesterday is a mafia goon or mafia bomb, they could shoot catboi(town inoculated) and today the mafia inoculated gets to pick someone to inoculate.

if they inoculate another mafia player - they could simply bus the bomb and win because there will be only 1 town inoculated and 2 mafia inoculated

on the wiki version of the setup it says that the person who just got recruited/inoculated becomes the next recruiter/inoculator. so catboi could not have been the new recruit, since he would have flipped inoculator. i think

For example, if I get neighborized day 1, I choose the recruit for day 2.
