Just as a sort of funsies starter question: what reasons did y'all sign up for this game/why do you play Mafia in general?

I joined this one mostly because I feel like the player list might be fairly enjoyable. I also saw that it was struggling to fill a bit and thought I'd help tip the scales.
I play Mafia mostly for fun. I feel like I'm good at solving as town and surviving as scum, but I'm not so good at straight persuasion/case-building as either alignment (or like, in life in general). So I often find myself sitting back early-game trying to find ways to be vaguely useful lol.

I also appreciate having a game as a springboard for socialisation. I don't know how to people IRL. (Not that I know how to people on MS either!)

Well, I did see a few episodes of Lost but was a huge fan of the next venture OUAT.

I enjoy solving riddles. I actually even toyed with the idea of being a rl detective.

Persuasiveness seems to be an acquired skill. Pretty much, the more you play any game, the better you get at it.

I prefer playing town because it’s a lot less stressful.

I play mafia because

I’m a masachist

, Particularly themed games because I like role playing and it’s a lot more emotionally consuming than say playing chess.

How familiar are you with the show? I think I only remember 4 characters. One I think was a rock star or something?

I know basically nothing about the show, except for one thing that's probably a spoiler but also the one thing that everyone knows about Lost

I think I'm pretty good at Mafia overall, just not at some of the more overtly valued skills. I've got solid reads after there's a bit to work with.
Part of it is activity as well, I just don't really have the kind of time necessary to be near the top half of posters in today's meta. Though if this game starts in the next two days, I could have a decent head start with the kids not at home. (Related - Bellaphant is my wife, and she's on V/LA with the kids! So she's gonna be inactive D1.)

I used to prefer playing as scum when I played on this site as like a young teenager lol. I like town more now, especially since I've started being alright at playing as town. Turns out lying became less fun with more life experience!

I don't mind playing as town or scum. I don't really view lying as "lying" here as there's a social contract that anyone may lie at any time. I just really don't do it because it's not of any value.

I recognise a rather big flaw in most of my leftover scum pool being players that haven't posted much. My townreads below the gap probably aren't that separate from the PoE list tbh. There's probably a scum hiding in the rather strong players like Pooky, Lukewarm, Ceph.

You could call that whole section 'townreads that I think could fool me' XD
