irrelephant is definitely right though. unless the PoE is already correct, which it increasingly feels like it isn't, this method of play of just going back and rereading the game and pulling out quotes does nothing to change anyone's minds. it's an exercise in confbias. the strongest reads i got out of the past couple days were borne out of real time interactins (eg. town read on frogster) but i didn't listen to them because idk
I will straight up disregard all reason if you have a PR dream again. You can come back and be like, “I dreamt that Locke is a N2 Bulletproof Multitasking Cop and Self-Targeting Doctor,” and I will go, “Okay, Locke kill it is then.”

It’s also worth noting that changing your mind a lot as town can actually threaten scum in a way, even if it gets you to target town. Town will town it up under pressure, and scum have to do a lot more performing when they don’t know which wagons are actually viable. Obviously it can also lead to miselims but yeah… MS’s town meta is really lacking in the real-time pressure arena
Hey all! Excited and nervous to play my first game with you!
also what's problematic in a game of this size, especially about constantly going back to reread, is that everyone has posted such a huge volume that you can find scummy and towny points about everyone. you're not gonna find the "aha!" moment because there will be dozens of minor scum and town inflections across everyone's ISOs

I decided to post "haha just don't post that in the main thread", but to get up to date on the main thread first.

yeh this is why spamming the game up is bad and Day 1 in a large should be ended within like 60 pages absolute tops
not sure I agree about the not re-reading bit tho. I think that just picking quotes isn't helpful but trying to understand, with flips, what the scum team was trying to accomplish day after day is very helpful, and if you narrativise that it can help to persuade others too. Maybe there's a distinction between elo and endgame approaches tho, but certainly in elo I think I've been right more often when completely ignoring the current game day and just looking back at the game vs trying to choose between two people who are both trying to survive and convince me the other is scum
at some point the density of evidence just becomes too much for anyone to actually get through it all. it's impossible to actually process everything that was said and trying to take it all in becomes draining.
Spoiler:
its just a bummer though. game's already lost and i feel like i have a big stake in that failure even though i at least cleared the right people for the right reasons, its just not enough
i still think realtime interactions etc are supremely overrated tho

Sadly, thread spamming in larges is a legitimate scum tactic with the current site meta. I've definitely done it to essentially ruin future days' signal:noise.

Too busy with work to play mafia right now but I shall return some day!

And this is why policy lims should be brought back into fashion
policy lim me every game until i stop joining games and actually have a life
