I've been pondering the merit of claiming my actual role.

Even if it fails on town, I should still be seen targeting them.

i think saving a one shot bodyguard to super late and going deep with it fits your town meta more

There is a 0% chance I would ever use this role early, even if I had multiple shots, The best BG play I've ever seen in a game was an every-night BG who baited another top player into claiming with him early to claim vanilla, then no acted for 4 nights before suddenly saving the town RB out of nowhere night 5, more or less instantly winning the game for town. People are too reckless with roles like BG. I won't use it unless I feel like there's an obvious save to make, or if I actually feel there's a danger I could be voted off.

My last scum game I basically claimed my own role and power and won off of it. As either alignment with my role I would claim 1-shot BG, with *a* modifier if pressed, but I would refuse to claim what that modifier actually was unless I( had to. I can pretty easily leverage my modifier into SK conspiracy (Or just there being a vig), because it's exactly what I'd think if I had the town version of my role.

Basically though, this is the kind of role that does indeed fit in with the way I play, but ultimately it doesn't have an endgame lifespan. It's at best the kind of thing that you just auto-vote in final 3-4.

Compared to what I'm used to,basically every scumteam here is hellishly underpowered. Not even gonna try to setup meta yet.

that's by design. A few years ago the NRG decided to start making more pr-town setups so they'd win more often. My first thought, even though our powers ae sorta meaningless, was that town would be fairly powerful b/c we have 3 prs.
