Sometimes when playing mafia I feel lost. Who to vote for? Are my reads right? Am I even playing this game correctly in the first place? It's scary, it's anxiety-inducing, it's soul-crushing, but this post has shone a bright light on this otherwise confusing game. I now truly know that Furtive is scum, that they must be eliminated. In so few words, you conveyed your point so eloquently, so completely, so convincingly. It's not perspective, it's not opinion, it's fact.
Furtive truly is scum and I thank you for making me realize this through your magnificent choice of words.
Hell not only did this completely change my view of this game, but of mafia more broadly. Actually that's doing it a disservice, every single day I will keep being positively influenced by the enlightenment that is post 5053. The pinnacle of mafia, the pinnacle of truth, the pinnacle of what matters. So elegant yet brazen, so nuanced yet simplistic, it's hard to put into words the impact of this post. I'm crying tears of joy, I do not know when they'll stop, and more importantly I don't think I want them to. Truly, this post has been life-changing and I'm not sure in which way I could best express this gratitude I most certainly owe you for the life-altering experience that was witnessing this post, that was addressed to me of all people!

This was a fair comment and quite funny, but I had kind of given up at that point

The players that were given blessings were randomized, and it just happened to hit 2 TPRS which was certainly something. Didn't play too much of a part in total but was the one mentioned randomization method.

This game was long, 91 days, which makes it 1 day longer than Lost and therefore the longest game I've been in.

Setup was cool, I think it was fairly balanced.

Town consensus lost its way at times but got there in the end.

The starting idea for this game was some 6 odd months ago over the summer. A wonder to see it through to the end.

My thought process for getting the premise:

It started as a simple mountainous open cult setup with double day and cult being unable to recruit if a cultist was eliminated rather than defaulting to a cult leader for balance after playing Deputy Cultists.

That was too tough for cult to be able to lose their recruit AND a member on 2 shots of the day so the idea shifted to only the second elim preventing the cult, which made me think of it as a dawn/dusk elimination phases.

I realized that's dumb because then town actively doesn't want to eliminate scum on the dawn phase, so I combined it with my Oddball pick your evil Idea that I had scrapped and the rest is history.

All the replacements were amazing, even those who didn’t quite *want* to be here but did it anyway to help out.

It was really satisfying to watch the town gradually re-find its way, and though I didn’t read every single word, a lot of you had scumhunting styles that were just

fun

to follow along with. Also props to Nancy not just for a strong scum performance, but also for keeping it up for three months.

Premise: I love your threads with oddball factions in Mafia Discussion and the dopamine hit I get every time I see all those little colourful faction names that are probably unreadable in every skin except MafBlack :heart-eyes: .

I'm playing it up a little for laughs, but I genuinely really like your setups and ideas.

This said,

I don't have a satisfactory answer as to what Lunar has been doing.

This is like... not for a lack of trying btw. It's just I haven't come up with any theory that I think is probable.

I've tried to metadive MegAzumarill to get ideas of what factional abilities Lunar may have, which was rather painful because she is the author of a thread called "Faction Crafting Cafe" along with her participation in other wacky role-crafting threads.

I've considered the delayed kill theory as mentioned previously.

I've considered that Lunar have a factional vanilla-ization power based on this Pirate faction idea she posted in another thread. I didn't think this was a likely factional ability, because I think Scum would have vanilla-ized MathBlade.

I've considered DDS' idea that Lunar have a JOAT ability, which is a plausible theory based on Meg's Starkin faction (if I even understood that faction right...) but it feels rather inelegant so shrug emoji.

I've considered that maybe Lunar don't have an active ability and have more Scum like 4 vs 2, but that doesn't square with MMR's role.

The most likely theory I landed on is that Lunar are priming people & will maybe activate their primed targets at some point like an arsonist does, but I don't know - even this theory I'm not particularly confident in.

I thought the sense of confusion and... mild dismay? in this post was pretty funny
