What were the full roles of Prince and KT?

town strongman and town multitasking odd night fruit vendor even night vegetable vendor 1-shot meat vendor neighbor — both part of a trend of pseudo-townies with roles that do nothing.

btw, here were [REDACTED] and ???:

you have a [REDACTED] night action. each night, you can submit an action you would like to take. if I believe it's a fair action, I will let you use it. I may also slightly tweak the action if I believe it is close to being fair. if I decide the action is not fair and I decide not to tweak it, the action will fail.

you have a ??? action. each night, you can target another player. something may happen as a result.

the ??? does nothing at all. the mafia inventor was basically an identical copy of a role from the game Non-Reviewed Game, which had a randomized setup with roles designed by members of the normal review group (btw, I've got a sequel to that one with roles designed by the list mods coming at some point), and that game also had a role called ??? that had the same ability, but it had some extra things that happen after death. it was a deliberate red herring in case anyone figured out that the inventor was lifted from that game.

btw, the prisoner's dilemma mechanic for the two mafia factions is adapted from a marathon game I ran back in 2017 or 2018 or so. I directly said at the end of that game that I'd probably use that mechanic again at some point! I was hoping someone would figure that one out beforehand. alas.

to be fair, the dead thread got a little unlucky with sending messages and votes to players who died on the nights they received them. that being said, I'm surprised no one pieced any of it together on day 5.

That was alllllllllllll me. Don't worry about Ranger and Furtive. I made a calculation of our win efforts and realized how likely it was that we were in a bad position. Even if we had won and killed all the townies, we would have been left at your mercy not to end game us... which was near impossible.

So I forced them to Betray.

I'm not remotely sorry. I got recruited into this game during the phase where this was happening, never got to talk to the other team and had no illusions we could win otherwise.

I'm known for being a terrible neighbour, and if we're scum we have a PT anyway, a more worthwhile one, even.

It's actually better for us to show that we are "actually solving" in public, and sell that story to others.

that's why I asked what I asked. It's a theatre for the benefit of KT for you to get KT on board voting NM. You have to be the one to do it. If I do it, it looks manipulative at this point, but if you SPECIFICALLY do it it looks genuine.

More than even that, I'm abusing the fact that the mods explicitly allow for my using my own account. It's easier for me, first off, but not only is it easier it's also polarizing. It's showing I'm here and doing my OWN thing. I'm trying to solve this ON MY OWN and so our dissonance looks real.

like when I say I gave this game maximum effort because I was recruited as someone to come help save/seal this game away for scum, I was personally recommended to Furtive by Ranger.

It's hard for me not to feel responsible when I'm invited into a game that way, as either alignment to be clear. I was going to give this my all, always.

The part that I wanted to reread was your interactions with Ranger specifically. My memory had Ranger not seeming that concerned about dying and also you not pushing as hard for her death as I'd expect given your read on her. I was busy and didn't have time yet to confirm that, unfortunately.
