2. Remember this is a game! Strive to contribute to an experience that is enjoyable for all.
3. If you are not enjoying the game or feel that having to play is making your life worse, please consider replacing out. If I feel you are damaging game integrity, you may be warned to stop or replace out.
4. Harmful behaviour is moderated strictly. Examples of behaviour that will not be allowed:
- flaming, goading other players
- insulting other players
- use of slurs or derogatory language
- spamming
- excessive AtE
- not complying with reasonable requests to tone down your behaviour
The general test I will use is "does this behaviour make the game needlessly unpleasant?". I will be somewhat more lenient if you are clearly attacking the play rather than the player, but insults that are disproportionate will still not be tolerated.

6. Private communications:
- Do not communicate about this game outside the public game thread and any associated PTs.
- Do not quote, copy-paste, or link to any private communication into the public thread or into inappropriate PTs. Private communication = anything in a PT, your role PM, any correspondence with a moderator. Exceptions:
- You may quote or copy into any Notes PT you possess.
- You may copy, but not quote, posts clearly drafted with the intention of being posted into the main thread later.
- Do not claim to have a Notes PT
7. Do not discuss replacing out, conceding, reporting a player, or blacklisting a player before the game is over. If you have any concerns, please PM me, the backup/co-mod, or a listmod as appropriate.
Deadlines:
8. Day 1 will last 10 days. Days 2 and onward will last 7 days.
9. Nights will last 48 hours. Fast Nights are always an option provided all living players PM me saying they would like one.
10. During Days, players must make a game-advancing post once every 36 hours or receive a prod. Players have 24 hours after a prod to make a game-advancing post. When due for their fourth prod, players will be automatically replaced.
11. Players who are due for a prod at the end of a Day will be prodded as normal and should respond to the prod by PM within 24 hours.
12. Players on V/LA will be prodded every 60 hours (2.5 days) and have 24 hours to respond to a prod. V/LA should be used reasonably.
Post cap:
13. There is a post maximum of 200 posts per slot on Day 1 and 150 posts per slot on subsequent Days. There is a reserve of 10 extra posts per slot for the rest of the game. If you exceed the cap, you can only post naked votes every 12 hours. Violating the cap will result in force replacement. Replace-ins will be guaranteed a minimum of 20 posts.
No claiming flavour:
14. Do not claim the flavour text in your PM. Claiming the name of your role is permitted. Click here for a more detailed explanation.
Violating this rule will result in instant force-replacement.
Votes, eliminations, Night Actions:
15. Vote by using VOTE: Aisa or

16. Votes in spoiler tags or otherwise obfuscated will not be counted.
17. When >50% of alive players are voting the same player, that player is eliminated and the Day will end early. No takes-backsies: changes of votes after an elimination is achieved have no effect.
18. If an elimination is not achieved by the deadline, there will be no elimination.
19. Players may use VOTE: No Elimination to end the Day early with no elimination. If 50% of players vote for no-elimination, the Day will end early.
20. Any Night Actions you have should be submitted to me via PM or in a PT where I have indicated that this is acceptable. You can always change Actions before the Night deadline. Night Actions submitted after the deadline will not be accepted, even if the game thread has not been unlocked yet.
Final clauses:
21. No ruleset can be comprehensive. I reserve the right to modify the ruleset (you will be notified) and take action on behaviour not covered by this ruleset on a case-by-case basis.
22. Pretending to break a rule will be treated the same as actually breaking a rule.
23. Questions in thread will not be addressed unless bolded or otherwise clearly addressed to the moderator.

Public setup information:
The Town are called Crew, VTs are called Loyal Sailors, Town PRs are called Officers - whose flavours are derived from traditional roles on ships, and/or piracy in popular culture. At least half of the Crew are Loyal Sailors.
The Mafia are called Mutineers.
The Mutineers' factional kill is called '
The Black Spot
' - it's a delayed kill. The target dies at the end of the following day. The target is notified by me, but it will not be publicly mod-confirmed who is targeted. The target of the Black Spot is eligible to be eliminated (like all other players) and doing so ends the day.
The Crew's win condition is "You win if all threats to the Crew are eliminated and at least one member of the Crew is alive".
If all threats to the Crew are eliminated, the Crew will win even if its only surviving members are scheduled to die at the end of the Day.
The game is not Bastard, but does not meet Normal guidelines.

Wherein this one uses a real, physical deck of tarot cards to try and predict the game!* At the start of each Day, it shall draw three cards to determine what the Day might be like, and an additional fourth for the Night! This is a foolproof** method of solving the game, it assures you. If it dies, then uh, oops! But also it will continue to draw cards for the benefit of spectator chat.
