[SETUP] Scumteam UnPick

An old setup by Creature, first run here. Making a topic for it as I'm considering running it.

6 Vanilla Townies

2 Mafia Goons

Pregame, each player submits 2 pairs of players. These pairs cannot include the submitting player, and they cannot include the same player twice. All submitted pairs will not be possible scumteams; the scumteam will be randomly rolled from among the remaining ones.

On Day 1, there are two eliminations. They both flip at the same time, after the second elimination has occurred. After that, the game plays as a normal mountainous game.
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!

I'm trying to decide what version I like more. In the initial version, there was no delayed flip on D1. That seems townsided, and the written version seems more balanced (though potentially still townsided?), but probably a lot less fun for town who basically gets no concrete info until elo.

Creature mentioned after the second run that they were considering 9p with no double lim and the D1 lim flipping at the end of D2. I'd be interested to avoid a delayed flip if possible because that seems pretty unfun and so I'd hope it's not necessary to balance the setup. 9p does seem like it would swing toward scum significantly, because scum get more kills, and a lower proportion of scumteams get ruled out (a maximum of 18/36, compared to a maximum of 16/28 for 8p). So I may just try it as a standard mountainous 9p with normal flips and see how that goes.

can I ask what the reason for the double elimination on D1 is?

In the 6 VT/2 Goon setup a daystart on evens means that the optimal d1 play is to no lim without the double elim since you still get two mislims to work with and it increases accuracy

Spoiler: D1 lim
