Unfortunately this variation is considered inferior for white. The corect thing to do according to Tarrasch was to keep the tension and wait for a good opportunity to take, as white will be left with an isolated d-pawn and if 5.e3 is played that doesn't really strike at the center.

Interesting. I get the bishop pair, but you have a better pawn structure and a slight lead in development. I can see this being better for white, shoulda played something like 5. … Nf6 instead of 5. … Bxc5
