I'm not convinced it was, or at least that it looked like it would be; by that point there was no indication that anyone was considering believing Greeting. In fact there was already an extended discussion about whether Greeting was more likely to be mafia or mime. Cfr e.g. this post by Imaginality that I thinks does reflect the general consensus by that point:
