here's what you missed out on by ending the game in 5 days:

special voting option #2

during this phase, players will be granted the ability to VOTE: usurp. this will result in the death of the towniest member of the town. additionally, this only requires one person to vote it; it will fail if that person is mafia.

i had my mind made that this would have been mushshagana, which was convenient because i would have had a chance to post take me oooouuuttt which i woefully forgot to do with the excitement of the first kill

i think pooky pointed out on day 1 that in a vacuum the numbers for this setup were just very good to town. i had it set up so that by a traditional EV calculation it was like better for town than setups usually are (with of course the downside that there were hostage killings) but of course nightless just plays better than the EV by kind of a lot because of the way mafia usually works and how there's usually a handful of completely untouchable townies. this is like something i knew but i guess i failed to call it up to my mind fully.

another thing is that i just wanted to err on the side of having a slightly large amount of townies because i guess i was abstractly worried that there would be a bunch of home runs that quickly strip away all the townies and end the game quickly, or something. i suppose my failure there was underestimated the raw joy and primal desire you all had for bloodshed inflicted by the shortstop. in retrospect i feel like an endgame caused by a home run would have straight up been a good outcome although it's hard to say whether people would be more sour on it in that case. in any case the home runs happened like fully 4 times as often as projected and didn't stand a chance of outpacing the speed of this game so i surely mismeasured the numbers and maybe severely. although you'll have to forgive me for not predicting a 19 player nightless game would end in just over two weeks. i would probably knock the number down to something like 12:5 doing this again but i'd still really hesitate to go lower. hilariously with the stupid voting blocs thing i added to this setup for no reason there were several times i realized "oh i can't do this because it's gerrymandered enough that scum can just sit on their hands and stall the game forever until tommy cuts everyone down" and thats even with the like super favorable outcome by d3 and d4 that happened

one other thing i suppose is that it just seems like historically this sort of "unserious" feeling game tends to be very amenable to town, like something about it really seems to activate the feeling for wolves in particular that "awesome i don't have to do anything". this is another thing where i have examples that come to mind only after the result was demonstrated in this game
