Important Information

Tournament Participation

Communication for this event will take place primarily on Mafiascum's official Discord server. Click here to learn how to join.

You should join the server prior to the start of the tournament.

This tournament will take place on Pokémon Showdown, and will use the Gen 9 Random Battles format.

You can sign up for this tournament by submitting an "in" post to this thread that contains your Showdown username. Feel free to post again if you wish to use a different username.

Tournament Format

This tournament will use a randomly seeded single elimination bracket. The winner of each match-up will be determined by a best-of-three set of games.

We will aim to have match-ups start every half hour, with exceptions for match-ups that go over time. We plan for the tournament to last two to three hours, but this is dependent on how many players sign up.

Either player may decide to turn the timer on at any point during a game. Once the timer is on, it can only be turned off if both players consent in Showdown's chat (or on Discord). In the interest of pacing, timing out (either via the timer or a disconnection) will count as a forfeit of the game (but not necessarily the match-up). Additionally, failure to appear to a scheduled match-up within ten minutes of the scheduled start time will count as a forfeit.

You should post links to your matches in the Discord channel, so spectators can watch and replays can be saved. You can also share your screen in our Discord server, if you wish.

Miscellaneous

You may only play in this tournament on one account. Coaching during match-ups is not allowed. Coaching between match-ups is allowed.

Users may continue to (and are encouraged to) use the Discord channel to facilitate casual games after they have exited the tournament.
