The game will be played to the rules listed here, with some additions/modifications for playing via forum. Please read the rules below carefully.
Be the first player to make an Accusation with the correct Suspect, Weapon, and Room.
- Each player selects their Pokemon when signing up. You may choose from the preset options or you may choose your own Pokemon if you can provide a ~50x50 image of your Pokemon with transparent background (or I can easily find one), to use on the board image.
- One Suspect, Weapon, and Room card will be selected as the correct solution. The remaining cards will be distributed across all players and represent your hand. The list of Suspects (Pokemon), Weapons (Moves), and Rooms (Cities) is at the bottom of this post for reference.
- Upon receiving your cards, please confirm receipt by sending me a message with your desired order of card reveal priority in the event you have multiple cards that could disprove a suggestion. (This order may be changed at any time; just message me with the new order.)
- If you need a detective sheet, you may get it from this source.
On your turn, you may take the following actions:
- Moving:Roll one six-sided die using d6 dice tags. You may not edit the post with the dice roll after posting. Any dice rolls with a "STATIC" tag will not be counted. It is best to roll your die in a standalone post if you think you may need to edit the post later.
- After rolling, post the exact path you wish to take for the number you rolled. You may move orthogonally (vertically & horizontally) but not diagonally.
- You may change direction as many times as you would like, but cannot enter the same square twice in a turn.
- You may not enter or land on a square that is already occupied. You may not move through a square that is already occupied.
- If your token was moved to a different room since your previous turn due to being included in a Suggestion, you may remain in the room and make a Suggestion, but must announce this instead of rolling dice or moving. You may not roll dice and then decide to remain in the room afterwards. You can also choose to move as normal if you would like.
- Secret passages:If you are in a room with a Secret Passage at the start of your turn, you may take the Secret Passage instead, but must announce this instead of rolling dice. You may not roll dice and then decide to take the Secret Passage afterwards.
- One secret passage links Pewter City and Celadon City; the other secret passage links Vermilion City and Cinnabar Island.
- Entering and leaving rooms:
- A door is the opening in the wall, not the space in front of the doorway. You must use 1 movement to pass through a door, from the space in front of the doorway into the room.
- You may not pass through a door that is blocked by a player. If you are in a room and all doors are blocked, you must wait for a door to be unblocked to leave.
- As soon as you enter a room, your movement ends.
- You may not exit and re-enter the same room in a single turn.
- If you end your movement in a Room, you may make a Suggestion. Otherwise, your turn ends unless you would like to make an Accusation.
- A door is the opening in the wall, not the space in front of the doorway. You must use 1 movement to pass through a door, from the space in front of the doorway into the room.
- After rolling, post the exact path you wish to take for the number you rolled. You may move orthogonally (vertically & horizontally) but not diagonally.
- Making a Suggestion:
- After entering a Room, you can make a Suggestion of a Suspect, a Weapon, and the Room you are in. Please bold the Suggestion.
- The Suspect and Weapon named in the Suggestion will be moved to the Room you are in.
- After a player makes a Suggestion, the other players will try to prove the Suggestion false.
- Going in turn order, the first player to have one of the cards mentioned in the Suggestion will show the card to the original player. If that player has more than one card, the card that comes first in their card priority list will be shown. The player who revealed a card will be publicly announced.
- If no players can prove the Suggestion false, the original player may either end their turn by bolding the words End turnor make an Accusation.
- You may name Suspects/Weapons/Rooms that you hold in your hand or that are already in your Room.
- You may only make one Suggestion per time you enter a room. If you want to make a second Suggestion in the same room, you must spend one turn exiting the room and a second turn re-entering the room. You may not forfeit a turn to remain in the room. If you are trapped in a room, you must wait for a door to be unblocked in order to exit and re-enter.
- After entering a Room, you can make a Suggestion of a Suspect, a Weapon, and the Room you are in. Please bold the Suggestion.
- Making an Accusation:Once per game, on your turn, you may make an Accusation with a Suspect, Weapon, and Room. Please bold the Accusation. You do not have to be in the Room you name to make an Accusation. You may make a Suggestion and an Accusation on the same turn.
- If your Accusation is correct, you win the game!
- If your Accusation is not correct, you can no longer move, make Suggestions, or make Accusations. However, your cards will still be used to disprove others' Suggestions.
- If your Accusation is correct, you win the game!
Even if you think you are familiar with the rules already, please make sure to read these! These are rules that are often forgotten.
