Well I've never run a mountainous game but what I heard is that since town has higher than random accuracy then games with 33% EV are supposed to be balanced. And apparently If you run a setup with 3 scum and 18 town you get 33% EV.

So the answer is unless you want a 21 player game you should probably run White Flag Mountainous or a nightless setup rather than just mountainous.

the "EV" (probability of town winning if every execution is chosen randomly) for nightless is 100% minus 2 times the proportion of scum. so for 3 scum and 6 town thats 33% and 3 scum and 7 town that's 40%. i think a "balanced" setup has an EV vaguely in the high 30s or low 40s although i dont think there's a consistent guideline for that; the idea is that towns are supposed to be better than random selection (although worse than random selection specifically in ELo where everybody has to be exactly right or the game ends). nightless tends to perform better than that EV given the way that "towniness" works in practice, so theoretically 6 town and 3 scum is pretty fair except that those numbers sound scary to me

ok i see that you said mountainous and not nightless. lol. i think that you would want something closer to 40% for a nightful mountainous setup so that would be um twenty-four townies

i think games with nightkill are fine if the mafia gets to choose the nightkill but the execution is chosen randomly

ideally town powers roles should be able to let the mod choose their target for them to avoid excessive swing

A very important and often overlooked aspect of forum mafia.

I like Doctor Drew's avatars here. My friend MrStoldi also had strong avatar game.

I'm of the (humble) opinion that my avatar game is unmatched though.
