Rules have been Taken with Permission from Fferylit, and Modified for this Game.
1.
Site Rules are in effect. Please familiarize yourself and follow them.
2. Posts consisting purely of insults without game content are not tolerated. I penalize such posts with a strike. Three strikes and you'll be replaced. Severe issues will be reported to the listmods.
3. Claiming scum is allowed. Claiming scum with another player (whether as a joke or not) will result in severe consequences for you, and consequences for your team.
4. Play towards your win condition. Gambits are fine, directly harming your own team is not.
5. Loophole abuse is not tolerated.
6. Have fun!
1. Voting must be bolded in the form
Vote: Player
- bold tags
or
VOTE: Player vote tags
or else they will not be counted. Unvotes are not required to change your vote, but they are helpful.
When voting for a Culprit, please use the
HURT: tags to differentiate and distinguish from voting.
2. Votes inside of spoiler tags will not be counted.
3. I don't mind if you use nicknames/abbreviations when you vote someone. But if I have no idea who you're voting for, then the vote won't be counted. If you notice that your vote hasn't been recorded, please let me know.
4. Eliminations require a majority of votes: (number of living players/2) +1, rounded down. Votes for no elimination will be counted, and a majority of votes for no elimination will end the game day with no elimination. The same applies for Culprit.
5. If there's no majority at deadline, there's no elimination.
6. When the hammer vote is cast, all players, including the eliminated may talk freely until the final vote count and eliminated player's card-flip have been posted. If the thread is not locked, it's ok for you to post unless I've specified that it is not ok.
7. Deadlines in this game are contingent on the game phase. Each phase will last 48 hours. There is a total of 7 phases during the day, so the maximum deadline is 14 days. The deadline may end early unless otherwise specified when a majority is reached, however the day will not end until a majority is reached on both Culprit and Elimination.
8. Nights will last 48+ hours, rounded up to the nearest midnight or noon US Eastern Time. Please have your actions in by that time. Day may not start at the same time night began for life reasons, but actions submitted after the actual hard deadline will not be counted.
Replacing Out: If you need to replace out of this game, send me a private message about it. Do NOT post that you want to be replaced, or that you have asked to be replaced in the game thread.
I will acknowledge your replacement request by replying to your PM. From that time forward, you are out of the game. Do not make any more posts in the game thread.
This is a
site rule that can entail penalties if broken. It applies to all mafia games at Mafiascum.net unless the game moderator explicitly states otherwise.
1. Prods will be given if you have not posted in
48 hours
.
2. You will be replaced if you either do not respond to a prod, or (at my discretion) if you need to be prodded more than 3 times total. You may request for a player to be prodded at any time. Prods requested when a player has been absent for less than 48 hours do not count for replacement purposes.
3. If you are V/LA (on vacation/have limited access), make sure I know. If you are V/LA for more than a week, I suggest requesting replacement, but it's not required, unless you are not able to post at all. If a lengthy V/LA is adversely affecting the game (e.g., if you are not able to post minimally during that time), then I may replace you without penalty.[/size]
1. Dark Red is the color I will use for mod posts. Please don’t use this color or otherwise try to make your posts look like mod posts.
2. You can talk about the game in the private threads given to you via PM, assuming you were given one. Otherwise, please refrain from talking about this game outside of this thread, and don't talk about other games inside of this game. This is a sitewide rule. See announcement
here.
3. No editing, deleting, using invisible texts, writing in code, using font sizes less than 70, etc...
4. Don't quote or reproduce any mod-received PMs or other private communications with me. Paraphrasing is permitted. Check with me if you're not sure whether something you want to post is within the rules.
5. Vocaroos, Youtubes, etc, may not be used to make game-content posts. e.g., do not record a vacoroo with your thoughts about the game and post it.
6. I make mistakes. If you notice I make one, please let me know.
7. Questions are vastly preferable to Modkills. If you're thinking about doing something that you're unsure is within the letter or spirit of these rules and the game of mafia, then ask me privately about it first.
8.
All
private threads inhabited by two or more slots will explicitly not be redacted. Post accordingly.
1. The Day Phase of the game is broken into 7 split phases. For the purposes of town, 6 of these phases are the same just with an internal count down. These phases represent the 2nd through 8th twilight of the game. The First Twilight will occur overnight and be applied at the start of day.
2. The 18 pieces on the game board were written prior to alignments being rolled, but within assignment based on UPick. In other words, you more or less got what you asked for character wise but the roles on the game board were created in a Smalltown fashion.
3. Of those 18 pieces, each player has been assigned one. There are 5 dummy pieces who have no controlling player.
4. In the First Twilight, 6 pieces will be sacrificed. In addition, Mafia will select a culprit to commit the crimes from among their living pieces. Day will begin with the 2nd twilight. The 2nd twilight has 2 effects. Firstly, town must select 4 pieces in 2 pairs of 2 to offer up as sacrifices for the scum. Scum will select privately one of these pairs and they will be the sacrifices for the second twilight. Please vote for a pair using the Vote Tags at this point by including both names inside the pair. You may vote for 2 pairs (4 pieces) at one time. You may not vote for one piece in both pairs.
5. Secondly within the 2nd Twilight, a Red Truth Effect may be enacted by scum. This is a public effect that will alter the manner in which the game is played. Red Truth Effects may either be accepted (representing that you accept the red truth as true) or declined (representing that you strike down the red truth with a blue truth). Both outcomes will be public knowledge. Discussion of what to vote for is allowed, however only players whose role PMs allow it may vote for this event. To vote, please PM me your vote within 48 hours. After 48 hours, the red truth effect will be enacted and scum will be given two pairs. Among those 2 pairs, scum will select one pair to sacrifice.
6. The following Twilights 3-8 will be the time frame in which players may vote to eliminate each other in the mafia game. Additionally, players may now vote for a culprit. Every 48 hours, a new sacrifice will be named, until a total of 13 sacrifices have been named. A culprit may never be a sacrifice, unless otherwise stated by a rule.
7. Should town agree on a majority of who to eliminate and who to vote as culprit, the day will end and no more sacrifices will be named. If not, the day will end 48 hours after the final sacrifice.
8. If town successfully identifies the culprit that scum have chosen, they are revealed to be the culprit. Their player controlling them will not be revealed. The culprit may not be selected as culprit again. Caught culprits must always be included among the first 6 sacrificed pieces in 1st twilight going forward.
If scum successfully evade having their culprit chosen, they are given the right to learn the identity of any player’s game board piece. This effect cannot be blocked.
9. Dead players may no longer have their gameboard pieces used for their abilities, but the dead pieces of scum may still be used as culprits in an Arc so long as they have not been previously caught.
10. Going to night, a penalty is applied to any player whose piece was sacrificed during the previous Arc. Those players may still use their game board pieces’ action should any remain, but may not use their private metaverse role’s action unless otherwise stated.
11. It is known to the town that scum are not affected by this penalty.
12. It is known to town that scum have a restriction upon their ability to kill. They must correctly match a player’s identity to their game board piece in order to kill them. If they name a wrong piece, they will fail to kill.
13. At the beginning of a new day, all game board pieces are revived and a new Arc begins.
14. Town are confirmed to have the alignment of Magic and/or Mystery. Scum’s alignment name is hidden.
15. The Town Wincondition is “You win when all threats to Magic and Mystery are eliminated.”
16. If a rule written here conflicts with a ruling in a role PM, bring it up to the mod. However, in general, a safe assumption is the Golden Rule. Specific Rules trump General Rules. If your Role PM allows you to do something that contradicts something here, unless a mistake was made, it is intentional.
17. This game is classified Bastard and Complex, and may include non traditional elements such as dead thread interaction. Outguess the mod at your own peril.
