March 19 - "Today's Theme is 'Theme'" Day

Theme games, be they micro, mini, or large, are a very popular format on this website and the source of some of our most memorable games, both because of the interesting flavor wrapped around the game we all know and love but also because it is the site's hub of innovation, with every new mechanic and role showing up here first. If you want to see what the future holds for the game of Mafia, you NEED to be reading Theme Games!

So let's give it some love. What have been some of your favorite Theme games to have read or played on the site? What are some of your favorite mechanics and roles to come out of there?

And if you REALLY want to give the Theme Queue its due, run and play some games there!

What have been some of your favorite Theme games to have read or played on the site?

in recentish history (last 4ish years?), definitely Datisi games.

Going further back, we've got a whole lot more. Varsoon games are some of the GOATs.
xyzzy games were great, too.

I love SirCakez games, the creativity behind stuff like Phonecalls in SCREAM and flamethrowers in Aliens was amazing.

My favorite theme game has to be Pooky’s Bastard Game. I got to keep playing long after I died in a whacky game with so many twists and turns. I’m not sure how “balanced” it was but it felt tremendously fun.

My favorite mechanic was my role (I could neighborize 5 people from outside the game)

I also want to shout out LLD’s Umineko U-Pick. The game within a game concept was really cool.

Pookys Bastard Game comes to mind as a really amazing theme I joined,

One of my favorite games on site was usesPython’s Theme game: In Broad Daylight would love for them to run it again or something similar

Hi! It was not entirely that fakeclaim of mine, the game before that with the Kingsguard was when I knew I was playing in them as long as I could.

No, that's fair it was just one of the most memorable moments for me running them! Was absolutely fantastic. They were all fun to run, in their own way and me and seacore worked well together!
