is a sitewide event spanning five games. Teams of four players will be given the opportunity to choose four out of the five games to be placed in, and will work together to win their chosen games. Scoring, based on whether or not your team was in winning games, will determine the overall winners of the event. The winning team will receive a banner for their accounts that will be displayed until the next Team Mafia event or the next Scummies, whichever comes first. The tentative plan for the five games will be
1. A large mechanical theme, run by T-Bone
2. An open, run by Something_Smart
3. A normal, run by Ausuka
4. A themed theme, run by Save The Dragons
5. A wildcard game, run by Skygazer and SirCakez
These games will be moderated by members of the Listmod team. Each team will be required to put a player in the large theme.
ALL SITE RULES, INCLUDING THOSE PROHIBITING TALKING ABOUT NON TEAM MAFIA GAMES, STILL APPLY.
I reserve the right to append these rules should it become necessary. If this happens, all players will be notified.
If you have any doubt about whether something is against the rules or not, pm a Listmod and ask.
Team Communication
1. Each team will be provided a Private Topic (PT).
2. Each team may also utilize a Team Discord, adding me as an admin for transparency.
3. Players may copy and paste whatever they want into their PT/DC.
They may not copy and paste text OUT of their PT/DC into game threads.
4. Players may continue to communicate with their team after in-game death in their provided PT/DC.
5. There are no restrictions for what players can post in their PT/DC's outside of not breaking site rules.
6. We'd prefer if teams used the provided means of communication. If your team really wants/needs to user another, please contact me. The organizing team will need to be able to access any means of communication in an emergency.
7. Team PT/DC's will only be made public after the game if all players on the team consent to their release.
8. All Game PT's including all scum PT's will automatically be released after Team Mafia.
9. There will not be Spectator/Dead PT's.
Talking About Other Games
1. There are no restrictions for what players can post in their PT/DC's outside of not breaking site rules. The rules for this section refer to what players can talk about in their ongoing games and ongoing game PT's.
2. Players are only allowed to talk about mod-confirmed things from other ongoing Team Mafia games.
3. Any public speculation about other ongoing games is prohibited.
4. Any attempt to publicly signal players from other ongoing games, pass messages to players from other games, or otherwise communicate through the use of cryptography is prohibited.
5. Do not try to loophole these rules. If anyone has questions at any point about what is allowed or not allowed please message me.
6. To repeat: If you have any doubt about whether something is against the rules or not, PM your Listmod and ask.
Your Teammates are Always Innocent Until Proven Guilty
1. You may at no time say, indicate, insinuate, etc. that your Team Mafia teammates are or might be anything other than town. This includes in any hypothetical situation.
2. Exception: You may talk about your teammates being scum if they have flipped scum in another game (i.e. are dead).
3. If a player is NOT on your team and is still alive in another game, you must follow the rules in the Talking About Other Games thread.
Replacements
1. It is your job to replace team members who are not active. If you require assistance from the moderator or any event organizer, there will be a tiebreak penalty.
2. To replace a team member, you must PM T-Bone AND the moderator of your game. We have a list of replacements that you will be able to choose from.
3. You may replace with anyone who is not currently on a Team Mafia team, has not previously been on a different Team Mafia team, is and has not been part of the Team Mafia Organizing team (Moderators, Balance-checkers, players in tiebreak game), and is eligible to play in mafia games. However, only 4 people may be involved in the PT at any time. A replaced team member may not participate in any way unless they are replaced back in.
4. The mod will force replace any player who has not posted within 3 days (Prodded after 2 days, no response for 1 more) of their last post (not including Night). This will come at a penalty to the team.
5. If a player must be replaced due to mod errors or another outside influence (such as gaining information that they should not be able to have), the mods may assist in finding a replacement without assessing a penalty.
Scoring
Team Mafia is, chiefly, a competition between teams. Therefore, there is a scoring system.
1. Each team will be rewarded 1 point for being on the winning side of a finished game, even if they died before the game ended.
2. The team with the most points wins.
At the end of each game and at the end of the whole event, there will be a survey distributed to the teams. For the games the survey will require each player to vote, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the least important 10 being the most important, how important a player was in their side winning the game.
In the event of a tie, there is a tiebreaker. In order of importance:
1. Being on the winning side of the Large Theme.
2. Having the best average score in the Game Survey.
3. The TM2025 Mods vote on a winner.
Q: I decided that it would be fun to break site rules during this event. Will this have consequences for me outside of the event?
A: Yes! Moderator actions taken during this event have the potential to affect your ability to play in games outside of this event.
Q: I decided that it would be fun to break site rules outside of this event. Will this have consequences for me inside this event?
A: Very possibly! Best to be on the safe side and not break site rules if you want to play this event start to finish.
Q: I thought it would be a fun thing to not know any of my teammate's roles or alignments. Is this okay?
A: It is not okay! The nature of this event is the ability to collaborate as a team in reading and reacting to games. Trying to have less information than your teammates to gain some kind of an edge is not allowed.
Q: Okay, so I have to know that my teammate drew scum in a game. But is it okay if my teammate doesn't tell any of us who their scum buddies are so we can read the game as if we're town and thus gain some kind of edge?
A: No. You will have all of the information that your teammates do.
Q: I have to replace out of this event for personal reasons. Will this affect my team's ability to win in a tiebreaker?
A: If your team finds a replacement either on their own or grabs one from the pool, it will not affect their ability to win in a tiebreaker.
Q: Am I allowed to post my role PM into my Discord Channel and/or PT?
A: Yes. You are encouraged to do so.
Q: Oh no, I talked a lot of shit about other teams in my teams Discord and/or PT. Are people going to hate me now when you release those at the end of the event???
A: Team Discord channels and Private Topics may not be released at the end of this event. Mafia PTs, however, will be.
I need to stress that even though a winner has been declared in the Open it is still an ONGOING GAME due to Team Mafia and must be treated as such. Do not talk to anyone except members of your team about that game. Thank you.
Players! Please respond to game surveys. As you all may be aware 4 games have finished. We anticipate the last game remaining finishing soon.
If you don't do the survey for your game you get a 0 for your game for the survey tiebreaker. Please don't make me have to tell you that you lost team mafia because you failed to submit your game survey.
Finally, I am aware that you can do some quick math to find out which teams are near the top of the table. Please do not tank your surveys just to try and artificially lower a score of another player. Be honest in your assessments. We ask that you consider how well your fellow players played in trying to achieve their win condition (whether they ultimately won or lost). Please protect the integrity of the event by being honest in your assessments. If you have questions about your survey please contact either your game mod or me.
If you have already submitted, thank you. We will give an extra two days after the final game ends for everyone to submit survey results.
I anticipate doing the live reveal early next week. We will declare individual award winners and the winners of Team Mafia. It will be held in the MafiaScum Discord, and then posted here after.
Once Team Mafia is over we will unlock game threads and game PTs. We will not publish team PTs or team discords.

Shoutout to my homies who jump in with me for this event to bring some representation to the big stage from some smaller/lesser know mafia communities! I really think we proved to be real contenders here that can hang with the best of the best! Adum and santy earned their top rankings for town and scum respectively in spades. The amount of time and effort they both into this even was incredible and inspiring. Immortal games from both of them in this event.
Cheers mafiascum community! Amazing event. Ive never played a format like this and it was truly exhilarating. Really glad I came back to the site in time to catch this. Just an amazing production, big shoutout to the mod team for making it happen, I cant even imagine then backend logistics that went into this thing. Seriously what a herculean effort, Im just so impressed all around by what it takes from both the mods and players to really pull this thing off. Much love to everyone who made the commitment and sacrifice to make this event as epic and enjoyable as it was!
