RULES

1. The most important rule.

This is a game, have fun.

Also, don't spoil the fun for others by being obnoxious or rude. Calling someone a scummy bastard is okay. Telling someone their ideas are flawed is okay. Personal attacks are not.

2. All votes need to be in their own line and need to be written in the form

(colon and capitals are optional...). You don't need to unvote before you place a new vote, though it would be appreciated.

3. A lynch is determined by simple majority. Meaning a player is lynched when more people are voting for that player than aren't. Once lynched you may not post anything more than a typical "Bah!" post. The remaining players are free to continue posting until the thread is locked.

4. Their is a four week deadline on each day. If no one has received enough votes to be lynched by then the day ends without a lynch. Nights last five days, night actions sent in after that are not counted.

I write in read. You do not. All other colours are fair game.

That said, you may not use painfully small or invisible text.

6. Do not edit or delete you posts, even if you have the power to do so.

7. Everything I write in Italics is flavour text. It has no direct bearing on the game in any way.

8. No player remains both inactive and alive for more than ten days. No posting for three days will result in a prod. If the prod is not responded to in two days I will begin looking for a replacement. If after five days of looking for a replacement I am unsuccessful you get modkilled. The deadline will be extended by the amount of time it takes me to find any replacements. Special dispensation may be made for those who state before hand that they will be away for a while.

9. Do not quote any communication between yourself and the mod. Youwill be modkilled. Messily.

10. I am human. I make mistakes. If I do correct me. Also, I reserve the right to edit or extend these rules if I see the need, since I've probably left something out.

The red orb of the setting sun cast a backdrop of fiery orange behind the western mountains. The light, wispy clouds of the day were delicately outlined in pink an yellow. From the streets of Mitchell's Plein, in the middle of the sprawling city of Cape Town, the scene should have been a thing of beauty. One tranquil moment in life's endless rush. Instead, the dying sun illuminated a scene of horror. The streets were painted crimson brighter than the setting sun could ever shine. Amidst the howling of sirens, the painful screams of the wounded and dying, and the muttered prayers of those searching for loved ones no one thought to look up.

Drug raids either went down smoothly, or they didn't. There was no half way. This one hadn't. The streets were littered with bodies, some in blue police uniforms, some not. Many with guns in their hands, many others without. Mothers, children, men coming home from an honest day's work. All simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Perhaps the real tragedy was that this evening on the News this bloodbath would be haled as a success. All the innocent lives wasted would be deemed an acceptable loss, reduced to mere statistics. Three druglords and two gang leaders either apprehended or dead. More dealers or thugs killed than anything else. A good day's work for the Cape Town Police Service. There'd be memorial services and funerals. Tomorrow politicians would made sweeping speeches about the bravery and integrity of the people of Mitchell's Plein. In the end the only thing that could help people sleep at night is the hope that maybe, just maybe, the streets would be safer now. Maybe they'd be cleaner. Maybe you'd be able to walk to the shops at night without having to worry about whether you'd make it home. Maybe.

Maybe not.

Three months later the deaths started again. This time though, no one called the authorities. Everyone knew how they'd handle the situation, they'd come charging in guns blazing and hope for the best. The residents of Mitchell's Plein had learnt from the last time. This time they would solve this problem themselves and they solve it once and for all.
