Terrible that a scum team could win in a combined 10 posts .
SP - You have been town in two games I have been in. This one had the worst town I have ever played with, but the other had the very best town I'd ever played with!Show-sekinj

Like I said in my vote post, I was pretty suspicious that the scum were just hiding it out, but I didn't really want to believe that.sekinj wrote: SP - You have been town in two games I have been in. But you are right about the C9++ game. That was easily my best game ever. I really glad it turned out the way it did, as I was just so afraid before I claimed that I would die N2. Who were you going to try to lynch D2 anyway?[i]Currently lurking about...

I have to apologize again for locking the thread. I completely forgot that this game was nightless.
If I hadn't locked it, SensFan probably would have posted before SilverPhoenix, as he pm'd me to... gently... remind me that this thread shouldn't be locked. If you feel that my locking of the thread severely affected the game, I can see if I can petition for a redo, or maybe we can do a redo in mishmash or something. I don't know what the rules are concerning this. Let me know your thoughts.
Personally, I find it difficult to believe that the town really stood a chance regardless, as roflcopter and ZazieR were practically unanimously named the most likely to be town by the players, but of course there's always a chance if the town takes time.
I also don't know if the town merits a redo just considering how quickly D2 passed. Putting one vote on somebody without interrogating them first was risky enough. I'm not sure Sens' presence would have changed anything, but let me know what you all think.
Anyway, this was fun to watch. Thank you for being patient with me, and I hope that everything else went well for you all.
sek- it took something like six months to get through the modding queue, but I'd say it took so long mostly because of a list mod transition. There were a couple months where nothing really happened. In Tartiflette We Trust-

SilverPhoenix (see above) thought it was tilted toward the scum, but I think adding more townies would put scum at a major disadvantage. Because they're working in a pair, the scum have to play very carefully (as they did here, though almost too carefully).farside22 wrote:So thoughts from everyone? This was the second time this game was ran. The first time town won. I see scum won this game. Do you think the game is balanced?-

i also think this game just had bad luck on the combo of players.
I don't think locking the thread for a few hours effected anything.Show-sekinj

This seems the biggest reason that the game is broken at 6p. There's no way to get scum to bus each other, because they're Lovers. But no Townies vote that lockstep, ever... might work at 7p. That's still only two mislynches, but you've got more freedom of movement in your voting.charter wrote:Well, we need all four townies to vote for one of the scum. I guess this means we need to convince Zazier.
I agree that the couple of hours of thread closure probably didn't matter.-

I think the setup needs to be run again. The result of the first one was players complaining that the town was overpowered, and now players are saying that the scum are overpowered.-

Flay, did you look at [url=http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9774]Open 97[/url which was the first run of the game?
A mafia player dropped a quickhammer on day 1, and was lynched for the town win on day 2.-

The main problem is on D2 with 6 players, only one townie has to vote another townie to get a scum hammer. Since the chance of that happening is 50/50 (2 scum, 2 townies), it is chances of town winning D2 drop below 40%. Of course, the hammer could be caught in the act (I almost caught it this time, but I decided against it), but if it is orchestrated enough, then the chance that town wins D2 drops to 20%, which is worse than D1.Mr. Flay wrote:Ahh crap, forgot the game is Nightless. So scum would have to get 3 Townies lynched to win in 7p...hrm.
Having three days is a problem too, though. The scum have a much less win percentages. I suggest maybe the lovers are "odd day" lovers (on D2, if one is lynched, the other doesn't die), if that makes sense.[i]Currently lurking about...

For townies to win, this setup (which is closely related to Polygamist Mafia) is more about identifying townies than identifying scum.
I think playing it is great practice for endgame scenarios in larger setups.-

Just a note: The probabilities with random lynching, for a town win is (2/6)+(4/6)(2/5)=3/5, so the probability of a scum win is 2/5. This suggests that the game might be biased towards the town, but it is really unpredictable what could happen, depending on how the players do. In the other game where town won, there was much more activity, unlike this game, where there was a bit of lurking.
If one townie is pretty much confirmed and isn't lynched, then the probability of town winning with random lynches is (2/5)+(3/5)(2/4)=7/10, a 1/10 increase.
Kudos to everyone who played this game, it wasalmostas interesting as the first one.-

Oh!! now I understand. You thought it was 2 townies against 4 scum?? Yeah! now it makes perfect sense why you attacked so senselessly.charter wrote:I felt that sens and myself were clearly the only two townies.Show-sekinj
