Well, if I'm going to help, I'd need to know where to dig first, what are you most unsure about?

Well, I have been thinking that Kagerou-Chan, Clownpiece-Chan, Larva-San and Kochiya-Sama are very towny! And I was also thinking that Yuuka-San was likely to be town too. I also had Ichirin-San and Koishi-San as null-scum. But after the recent pages, I started to doubt it, and think that maybe they are town... And it makes me think that maybe there was scum on their wagons, but my townreads were on their wagons!

And also, even though I am townreading Kochiya-Sama, it is true that she could be buddying me. I am concerned that I am getting tricked... I should probably reveal my light secret so you understand why.

Also I’ll add that I’ve lightened up on the kagerou read solely because of koishi who has shot up to one of my stronger townreads.

I had a pet theory that kagerou was OVERLY familiar with koishi, suggesting they were in a pt together.

I quoted the post but it seemed Fmpov that kagerou had a bead on who koishi was and that would have to come from more correspondence than was in the thread because I don’t think they had much interaction before that point?


But I’m at the point where I feel strongly that koishi is town and I’m just chasing ghosts there.

I like this read. I also felt Koishi's defense of Kageeou felt off (despite the fact that I TR'd Kagerou), so it's possible they are partnered. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The entire line of questioning in 889 is really bad. Why does Daiyousei care about the fact that my scumread of Kaguya can be applied to other people? I'm explicitly fine with voting the other people. Why does Daiyousei care that I said I don't understand how anyone could have a townread on Kaguya? Even if only Kagerou was townreading Kaguya, nobody else was voting her. I didn't understand why nobody was interested in a Kaguya vote and said so. None of this is actually relevant to my alignment in any way and none of this even gives a reason not to vote Kaguya. It just feels like a discredit attempt, or at best an attempt to look like Daiyousei is questioning and investigative (and therefore towny). I also mentioned that her cases on both Aya and Kagerou were fake, and I stand by that.

This isn't quite true because Aya definitely
broke character at the height of her frustration, and I don't believe she's mixed news terminology and the like into any of her posts since then.

Aya breaking character happened after Daiyousei's bad case on Aya and therefore has no relevance to whether or not the case was good.

My issue wes that it was presented as a wall post written by someone who has feelings about wall posts[titling it "GIANT FUCKING WALL" and dropping it in spoiler tags], but then it had several comments that looked like filler content that is just padding it out.

In general I think regularly flushing your brain of the idea that scum only play as conniving tricksters or whatever is good for you because scum playstyles can vary comically and they will especially love it if you hand them a townread for it. Rest of the readlist is like, fine, ig.

I think that these two were the worst offenders. Where they comment to call a read basis a fallacy, without commenting on any thoughts on the original poster's alignment for using the fallacy or to comment on the alignment of the people being talked about.

Their inclusion felt like they were going through looking for things that they could easily respond to, to pad out the post with More Content.

And not just those two posts, but a general lack of Real Sorting imo. Like, the strongest scum read that they walk away with ended up just being "Someone Else's Case is So Good" with little of their own individual takes on who is scum this game.

Nothing really caught my attention, so to speak... I just felt like if Kagerou-Chan was town they'd obvtown by now but they didn't really, so I decided to revisit that read.

I guess I had higher expectations from you based on the early game (before the current me existed, when it was old-koishi) and so I expected your return to be a flurry of activity and digging in. I totally get the page count being overwhelming, though.

I am left underwhelmed based upon my expectations but also feeling that it's unfair to you, given my own IRL issues causing activity drop-off.

Sorry that I won't be able to hyperpost until the second day phase... but if it makes you feel better, I could provide some spicy takes instead!

Right now I think Sanae Kochiya has a good chance to flip scum. Let me explain why! This day phase, it feels all or most of the slots she's been pushing were very unlikely to get flipped. My impression of her is that she's a good player and I think if she really wanted to she could rally more support for a Koishi or Aya wagon. But instead she complains about these wagons not existing and then says she'll vote Ichirin at deadline. If Ichirin is town then I'm betting that Sanae wants hir to be the misflip today but doesn't want to be a driving force behind it that will get scrutinized tomorrow. So she's putting up a show of voting elsewhere, maybe even voting one of her scum buddies (so there's possibly scum somewhere in Aya/Kosihi/Kagerou), but she's not really trying to get these lims through.

I think she's in the zone but it's not like she's trying different misyeet wagons like you said until she finds one that can be yeeted, more like she's making safe pushes on people that have the purpose of making her look good and not the purpose of pushing somebody through... Like if she knows person A is off the table she intentionally pushes person A rather than person B because that helps her positioning. And when person A is back on the table she switches to person C. Actually, here's a quick calculation:

We're 2:8. If we mislim Aya and Sanae is scum, tomorrow we're 2:6 and we kill Sanae, going to 1:5 on the fourth day. That's pretty favorable. If we lim Aya and Sanae is town (regardless of Aya's alignment), then she dies and brings us back to odds which is also good.

- Her push on Koishi felt fake
- Her fight with Aya didn't feel TvT and Aya is confirmed
- She made 2371 which is a scum post because she already had

- We stayed her execution yesterday because she promised to self-vig, but then she didn't self vig
- Larva jumped on Sanae wagon and then jumped off in order to equalize the wagons which possibly helped in her execution being delayed
- Both of her big scumreads from day one are confirmed town now and one of her big townreads from day one flipped scum but her reaction is not to reevalutate the the game but to vote you without elaborating (i know she did say she reevaluated peoples positions after acceding aya and koichi are town but i expected more out of a townie). Also the fact that she was universally pushing only town day 1 (yeah i'm preflipping kagerou sorry not sorry) is a bad look.

Okay I should also note that I targeted Daiyousei with my active ability last night but I misread what it does so it's actually useless. However I actually read my PM today so hopefully next night I can do something useful. Or not! Maybe I'm just Vanilla Scarlet.

This is tonal whiplash. But I don’t really know what, if anything to make of it. Can’t you two bicker in the scum PT if that’s what that is?

It's probably a combination of being bored to death of this day phase, alternating between role playing and not roleplaying, and talking to my scumread who I'm pushing as if she could be town because I really want to not be wrong so if she's town I want to find her but at the same time I'm pretty confident she's scum, that's producing the tonal whiplash.

Anyway if I were scum with Sanae, Daiyousei would've been dead eons ago and Larva would probably still have been alive.

Okay so I was trying to gather up my thoughts on why Kaguya is scum but now I think they're just town. God help me.

Anyway the main three reasons I was voting her, in short, were:
1. Combination of boredom and trying to stir up the gamestate (on a skim this either didn't work or maybe helped me form a TR on her)
2. Disliking of her approach to Sanae.
3. Surface level VCA - I knew there were several townies off Sanae wagon and still it was getting pushed so I thought it's pretty reaonable to assume scum on wagon and I arbitrarily chose Kaguya.

However in looking at her more recent posting (especially 3979) I think Kaguya is towny. I also think that I've lost too many games for not pushing through obvious scum due to stale gamestates so with that in mind I'm back to voting Sanae.

i don't think Ichirin being demoralized is all that alignment indicative on its own. i can see where sie as town would be over it at this point

the problem is the shift from "omg maybe my defenders are scum all along let me dig into this!!" to lurking out the rest of the day. the whole "i'm just waiting to die" schtick becomes more difficult to buy when it's clear from the gamestate that the day 1 elimination is not at all set in stone

it's starting to feel like a weaponized excuse to stop contributing and allowing us to forget about hir

my own hypocrisy in voting Sanae but convincing myself Ichirin is actually scum is not lost on me. i agree that Sanae's stock has fallen drastically and at this point i will vote for anyone that isn't a town read just to ensure an elimination goes through

i hate cutting deadlines this close, it gives me tremendous anxiety

Yeah I guess this makes sense in a scum!Sanae world. Knowing that all the non-voters were town basically meant that is Sanae was scum Larva had to change vote to let her live, since they couldn't count on non-voters. Also the Larva progression of voting Sanae and then working back into an Ichirin vote feels planned, which is more likely to happen in a scum!Sanae world than in a world where the wagons were TvT. Right? Someone sanity check me please.

Like, what exactly could Koishi/Aya have been doing that doesn't make it crystal clear?
Aya says they redirected all night actions (or something like that) to Larvae, who promptly died and Koishi claimed a protective before.
Larvae is very unlikely to have taken a dive to get scum into a better position.

We have 2 mech clears, was there anyone else that was mechanically cleared that I missed?

More out of a slight paranoia that the game doesn't fully make sense if we take them two and clown out of the pool

This entire day phase has revolved around a Sanae wagon. And I guess there's a good reason for it because she claimed she'll confirm herself and then didn't, and she has somewhat resigned herself to being the vote for today.

But I feel there's something off about it seeing that it got to 4 votes with 3 conftown off the wagon. So it makes it so either Sanae was scum with exactly one of Kagerou/Reisen, or there was scum on the wagon. Now obviously it's possible that scum would bus here, but the only person who I was scumreading on Sanae's wagon didn't sound like they were bussing (Kaguya), so I decided to assume Sanae was town and was pushed by Kaguya as a misfade. However right now I feel Kaguya is towny. So I guess my first question to you is how likely do you think Kaguya is scum?

Intentional play….somewhat. I wouldn’t add the other stuff around it.

1. The only slots that are interested in interacting with stuff that I put out are slots I’m already townreading or agreeing with and the slots I want to get a little more on just don’t see my posts.

Ichirin and tenshi specifically, which is frustrating but ehh, I’ll get over it.

B. I’m pretty fine with the trajectory of the day. Not counting on an aha moment that flips everything upside down.

Here is my professional opinion on the matter
- I think the majority of players are decently townie.
- I don’t think Irchin did anything that stands out to me. In particular, Irchin does not strike me as someone who wants to be right but rather appear as if Irchin wants to be right.
- Do you wanna run up another guy and get another claim out of them? I don’t think this is advisable. I don’t even know why koishi claimed tbh.
- Someone has to die. The role isn’t particularly appealing to keep alive
- Most of what was posted has mostly been emotional appeals. Emotional appeals can’t be the only thing to justify keeping the slot alive, they need substance. Something that definitively screams town. I can think this for a lot of players, not Irchin.
- if u don’t know what to do, it’s because your gut tells u something is off. It probably shows that u could be town but just don’t know what to do in this situation.
