I've been following this game, and I would like to say a few words regarding the moderation.

Venrob, are you aware that:
1) You confirmed the dead Gunsmith's action. (He could have lied in his will, but your posts about projectmatt having a gun confirm that the action actually took place.) ()
2) You confirmed projectmatt as Town. ()
3) You were commenting on things the living players had no business knowing--that the players in the dead QuickTopic weren't posting. ()
4) You kept telling players what they should do. (, , , , and so on.)
5) You changed rules mid-game to give Mafia conditional daytalk. ()
6) In general, you were far too chatty about the game and its state, giving away too much information.

And these are mostly just off your own posts, as I have not gone thoroughly over the edits you made to other people's posts. As a moderator, you should be an impartial figure, not favoring one side over the other, but your actions throughout the game very heavily favored the Town and repeatedly added confusion to the gamestate. For future games you mod, I'd suggest a more hands-off approach, reducing your in-thread interventions to votecounts and replies to questions (only if and when they are relevant), without adding random input as if you were a player yourself.

In post 279, Venrob wrote:I was (in 63) going by what i said in previous posts: assuming i were a player, assuming will had not lied, assuming everyone is town. The daytalk i knew wouldnt actually happen, at least not unless the day went past 5 days when it has 3 killing roles that isnt likely. Every 20% being a deadline, it would never happen. Should it have happened i would have stated that i were just kidding as i was.

As for your final bit tierce, i will take that suggestion insto consideration.

Also number 3 has nothing to do with the game, just me going "wow wtf".

Post 80 had nothing of me telling people what to do- i said that if you play a game on epicmafia you will understand the voting mechanics.
A moderator should never give suggestions to players. was one of the most egregious errors you can do as a moderator, as you made it evident that projectmatt's slot was Town. In the way you had been posting, it made very little sense for you to post 63 if he didn't actually have a gun. As a moderator, you really should not interfere or give your opinion about players' decisions. Ever.

It doesn't matter if you are "assuming" things or not, as a mod it is not
your
place to comment on events in or outside the game thread while the game is ongoing. Save that kind of discussion for post-game, for your co-mod/back-up, or have it in the dead QT with players who can't interfere anymore.

Yes, I know it's fun to have all the information, but it is your responsibility not to out it prematurely.
Game integrity must come first.
Your definition of "fun" as a moderator is not the same as a player's definition of "fun", and mid-game mod commentary might be entertaining to you, but it can seriously disrupt the game, accidentally or not. In a forum Mafia game, players are trained to read between the lines and will try to extract information from everyone's posts, including the mod's. You were giving information away in spades, and I would have felt terrible as scum in a game moderated like this, because it felt like the Town had an extra omniscient player who was eagerly cooperating with them.

As for the daytalk, no matter the likelihood of it happening, changing a rule mid-game (even as a joke) is a poor moderation practice in a non-bastard game. The players had no way of knowing it was a joke, and daytalk can strongly alter the interactions Town should look for.
