I'm looking for something, and I'm praying it's in Town's hands! What are you drinking? I'm drinking a wheat beer my youngest just finished brewing plus a little Crown Royal I got for Christmas.

Titus has fooled me the last three times we met (she was having a scum streak), so I"ll prob be paranoid of her as long as we're both around. I know you're persuasive!

Your casual-meta failed you. You want meta, one of my first large games the town basically posted itself to death; it was impossible for them to find any signal in all the noise they created. So yes, I think it was a waste of time, drunk uncle, creating noise which downs out signal and hurting the motivation of some players. I would lean town on you, that doesn't mean I have to think you've been at all helpful.

What I seek clarification on is, I cant tell if the language you used means you (at that time) include VM in the town bloc, or you are saying Mollie just elected the other 4 into the town bloc.

I haven't seen anything out of character for either mollie or GiF, though mollie scum reads me a lot. At this point I'm not looking for best arguments, but sincerity in pushes and defenses. This part in the game will be good for later. We're making connections, and a lot of Townies are going to be pushing crappy cases with low info. Scum have to try to push Town with crappy cases, but they know their cases are crap. We just need to spot the difference.

This is why I don't want to step on others' conversations. I want scum to have as many chances to slip up as possible.

Unfortunately two of my scum reads are our two worst lurkers. Seraphim for the tone of his posts, though in his recent scum game, he sounded pretty scummy to me there as well. DDD was gut. I didn't like his posts where he said I posted too much. I think it was like he was grudgingly calling me Town, and there's definitely some cog-dis going on in his posts.

@ Farside You said DDD didn't post much when you played with him. I know this is an awful small sample to judge from, but how does he compare here to then, and was he Town or scum? All I really remember about him (never played with him) is he IC's in Rome occasionally, and he has an IC spiel.

Tier isn't making a great impression on me at the moment. The only scum read he's agreeing with is the one on him. 60, 129, and 131 He stays a low grade scum read until we've seen more of him.

Of course everything's in flux, and reads may change a lot before the Day's up. *Standard disclaimer here*

I think Belisarius deserves a Town read. I haven't decided on Farside yet.

Yakko's looking some better. I think he's less likely scum now, than I did earlier.

I'm not getting a TSO Town read yet either. He has playful posts right now, but isn't committing to anything, yet. We'll see if this is going to be a trend. I think I may be able to successfully sort a scum TSO.

On the Titus thingy, I think I've seen Titus as chatty(writing walls) and using mainly one liners. In my experience she isn't afraid of gambits, and can get a little chatty

scum. She WKs, busses as scum, etc. She

can

come off as sincere, and is able to deflect wagons off of her (sometimes). But she's had a little practice, so it's expected.

I'd need more than the length of her posts to justify voting her ATM.

I don't remember if Farside and I have any other games together than this one's predecessor. I may reread it to renew myself on how she plays. I read the Titus ISO, I may look at the game mollie, Farside and Titus played together too.

*Thoughts on meta* I used to try and use it A LOT. Now I just use it to try to get a general idea of how someone plays. Meta as scum reads is iffy. Hell, my play changes with every game I play. I see scums do new things all the time, and I know that sometimes how I'm feeling affects

@far: I don't tend to have good reads until about midway through day 1 usually, I am a read the thread type, but don't respond to things unless I have something constructive to add to them. I have a hard time in the rvs/early game stage applying much content because of this. A lot of the time I tend to fall on the side of asking players questions once I start to have reads on them because I find answers to questions more constructive than giving my own opinions (though I will give opinions if I think they are really needed or asked about them).

Post has a formal tone, to me. It just doesn't seem to flow naturally. Sounds a little self conscious.

There is nothing scummy about having town reads and not wanting to lynch players, added none of the players Mollie states did brantz state a scum read in.

As for Mollie, well I've seen players have town reads early, I found her wording on never willing to lynch pretty useless too. Again reads a bit buddyish/over the top unnecessary.

She did vote VM with this post. She went from nothing scummy with (Town reads) to saying they are essentially worthless (mollie's reads) I think a scum read's reads are worth something. You are right though, there isn't as much (very little cog-dis) as I thought just going from memory.

I like how she's expressed her scum reads, fought to be clear, without admitting she's wrong, came around to "though I know Titus thus, others might know her differently". Does this make her "Town I'll never ever vote"? No, but not a good Day 1 lynch IMO.

To witness, why do you say nothing but bad things about tso and then end with "you're not a townread but there's common ground"? Your thought process is nonsense.

It all comes back to being wrong enough times to know that Today's scum read might be Tomorrow's Town read. Just because someone's not a firm Town read doesn't mean you want to burn the bridge this early. We might need to work together later. He can show me why he thinks what he did isn't scummy, and I'll adjust my read accordingly.

Should I throw away a BRantz scum read because I don't like a lot about T S O's catch up? In the scheme of things he doesn't appear an option for a lynch Today anyway. I think it's pretty clear the slots I'm willing to lynch.

What are your feelings about T S O's posts? Can you see where my skepticism (with his catch up)comes from? Since our actions appear nonsense to you, what bothers you the most? Do you see a net gain for scum doing it?

Amazingly, the first game I came across was "Walrus and the Carpenter". You replaced in late, then got NKed. I guess I should play more micros.

What is your strategy this time, since it's established you're actively lurking. You once said in a game "Looking at past vengefuls, town is often very stupid/acting scummy, while scum is lurking and profiting." Do you feel this way for vengefuls only, and has your view changed, and if so how?

I think I've read a lot more games that have you in them (I once thought I could find secret scum tells if I read enough games) than played with you. Weren't you in "Reign of Flames"? I'm too lazy to look.

I do agree that I think BRantz has less a chance of flipping scum now than when Day 1 was first getting going. Or less chance of being scum than Seraphim. I just read a Micro where TSO tried a similar ploy to Seraphim's, and it worked all the way to MYLO where he was lynched for the Town win. In "Walrus and the Carpenter" DP tried it, and was hung Day 1 as scum.

@ VM My opinion It's not uncommon for "I'm not voting so and so's" and I see it as a good thing. I think it'd be harder (but not impossible) for scum to keep up a façade of strong Town reads. If they get flipped, and they're scum, you can get clues from how they treat their "never vote" players. If they've flipped scum, they've left clues behind. We just need to sort misdirection, distancing, and buddying. Sounds easy, huh?

Something that bothers me about Seraphim replacing out is FA_Q2's claim. Yeah he said he was busy, but replacing out of a game where you're lynchproof (especially after expressing anger at being railroaded as scum) when he certainly hasn't site flaked is different from a replace out simply from being too busy.

I've never played with an unlynchable slot before, and I don't see it's utility in this game? Someone who has more experience with them can speculate on why a Townie would be unlynchable, in this situation.

What I assume is the FLAVOR (it does not really state that it is flavor but it uses colorful language) directly mentions that I cannot be lynched as long as the vorpol sword is in the right hands. As the mod will not clarify what the exact conditions are for my lynchproof I have to assume that the flavor provides the insight that I am lacking and that the right hands refers to town (it does also say that scum would cut me down with it so I think my interpretation is pretty damn solid in that respect). Is it possible that I am incorrect? I guess it is but I think that is only a remote possibility and I am more than willing to stake my neck on the fact that if mollie is town then I will not be lynched this day. If I am lynched then mollie is scum (and my death will have been more than worth it). I think that vindication is coming anyway as your case on farside is damn good and she has the vig shot to take care of that. A direct lie about your role is just shy of a confirmed cop guilty. The only other thing that I might take from the role PM would be that I might simply die if the sword ends up in scum hands but I do not think that is actually the case as that would be taking the role wording really loosely and does not fit all that well.
