Hello,

Most of you, I don't know at all, some of you I should know better, and some of you I think I know better than I do.

@ Tiershift Ditto from Colorado, though, they frown more on drink here, than other things. I hope you're enjoying you're evening (my time) I'm Town too!!! I'm looking for something, and I'm praying it's in Town's hands! What are you drinking? I'm drinking a wheat beer my youngest just finished brewing plus a little Crown Royal I got for Christmas.

Titus has fooled me the last three times we met (she was having a scum streak), so I"ll prob be paranoid of her as long as we're both around. I know you're persuasive!

Others I should mention, but wth, this
is
a first post.

RVS vote may or may not be forthcoming.

Fluff
I had to correct a bunch of typos in preview! :P

Who else is drinking on a Tuesday??? TBH, I almost never drink these days, but today's been one of them days. (I could rant) we'll keep it down though.

@ Yakko What strategy are you using? In that you're voting obvious Town. Obviously!

I'm not hogging the thread, I'm just watching Faceoff, chilling, and setting on the web.

I'm wanting to be important to Town this time. We'll see. It depends on more than me though. So I always have a scapegoat if it doesn't work.

ERM, fail run on sentence. Remove 3 Fame.

I played scum, replacing in late Day1 (I think)in you're first onsight game. Lost in LYLO. Much later, but much earlier than now, You played a scum role and claimed and odd Day something-or other. I proved you moved on an Even Day, then bamboozled everyone to a win, after promptly NKing me.

But I believe we all deserve another chance. Again, why should I trust you, and your other head?

Now why would you feel the need to explicitly announce that you won't lynch your townreads?

Because it shows how strong those townreads are.

I'm not sure I like that you are giving 4 players a complete day 1 pass on page 5.

For the record, I like VM's read list. It was the same as mine. There are a lot of unfinished conversations going on right now. I don't want to step on them.

In post 122, Valkyrie Mollie wrote:Probably obvious townreads but I won't lynch any of these folks today.

then I am unsurprised you are pretty much in agreement. <(no dont read that as a poke at you)> (I am unsurprised)

What I seek clarification on is, I cant tell if the language you used means you (at that time) include VM in the town bloc, or you are saying Mollie just elected the other 4 into the town bloc.

I feel(reads to me) like you included Mollie. yes?

I haven't seen anything out of character for either mollie or GiF, though mollie scum reads me a lot. At this point I'm not looking for best arguments, but sincerity in pushes and defenses. This part in the game will be good for later. We're making connections, and a lot of Townies are going to be pushing crappy cases with low info. Scum have to try to push Town with crappy cases, but they know their cases are crap. We just need to spot the difference.

This is why I don't want to step on others' conversations. I want scum to have as many chances to slip up as possible.

Unfortunately two of my scum reads are our two worst lurkers. Seraphim for the tone of his posts, though in his recent scum game, he sounded pretty scummy to me there as well. DDD was gut. I didn't like his posts where he said I posted too much. I think it was like he was grudgingly calling me Town, and there's definitely some cog-dis going on in his posts.

@ Farside You said DDD didn't post much when you played with him. I know this is an awful small sample to judge from, but how does he compare here to then, and was he Town or scum? All I really remember about him (never played with him) is he IC's in Rome occasionally, and he has an IC spiel.

Tier isn't making a great impression on me at the moment. The only scum read he's agreeing with is the one on him. , , and :? He stays a low grade scum read until we've seen more of him.

Of course everything's in flux, and reads may change a lot before the Day's up. *Standard disclaimer here*

I think Belisarius deserves a Town read. I haven't decided on Farside yet.

Yakko's looking some better. I think he's less likely scum now, than I did earlier.

I'm not getting a TSO Town read yet either. He has playful posts right now, but isn't committing to anything, yet. We'll see if this is going to be a trend. I think I may be able to successfully sort a scum TSO.

If anyone wants me to expand on where I stand on someone or something, ask, and I'll answer as soon as I can.

Hello Sir Aeronaut. You realize for some of us(me), you have a tuff row to hoe?

Were you aware it was a scum slot when you replaced in?

On the Titus thingy, I think I've seen Titus as chatty(writing walls) and using mainly one liners. In my experience she isn't afraid of gambits, and can get a little chatty
as
scum. She WKs, busses as scum, etc. She
can
come off as sincere, and is able to deflect wagons off of her (sometimes). But she's had a little practice, so it's expected.

I'd need more than the length of her posts to justify voting her ATM.

I don't remember if Farside and I have any other games together than this one's predecessor. I may reread it to renew myself on how she plays. I read the Titus ISO, I may look at the game mollie, Farside and Titus played together too.

*Thoughts on meta* I used to try and use it A LOT. Now I just use it to try to get a general idea of how someone plays. Meta as scum reads is iffy. Hell, my play changes with every game I play. I see scums do new things all the time, and I know that sometimes how I'm feeling affects
my
play. Meta
can
prove a scum read, but it needs significant proof that the meta is a consistent occurrence.

You're a Mafia traitor that wins when you sacrifice your team? Forget the "drunk" and let us know if anything else stands out to you. Do you think scums could be lurking, either active or inactively. Like not getting to prod distance, but not saying much of anything, and/or just not posting? My scumdar says yes, but it hasn't been in for it's scheduled maintenance lately, so there's that.

Idle thought, then I'll go away for awhile. I haven't picked up any scum reads. At least none I'm sure are scum reading me. This makes me wonder about some of those Town reading me. Now I'm not trying to bring division, I'm just saying Town reading me isn't going to preclude a read from where they are currently standing on other things. I want to trust my allies, and hopefully we'll form a killer Town bloc, but I want more ...

Call me greedy.

In my spare time, I'm gonna list out everyone, who they're scum and Town reading, add in votes. Divide by hours between posts. See who they don't address. Multiplied by the number of words averaged in said posts. Seubtract attitude, and see if I can make a New and Improved scumputer (don't tell DGB!).

I've fixed the DVR remote to work our DVD recorder, laundry, solved other misc. problem for my wife, and our kid (kid, he's 30 now) has stolen our truck to go to a 2 year celebration at a local lounge, so I'm bored.

Wagons.

TierShift
A justified placeholder for my vote. May move at some later date. Everyone's a Town read.

BRantz
Another good wagon. just hit me wrong from his ISO, making me reread him several times.
Of course
I could be wrong. Still a good wagon with a Town read and a nullish read.

AxleGreaser
Not going here. Isn't Tier's vote still RVS?

Belisarius
Vote is by a tentative scum read. Wouldn't vote here either.

farside22
I don't trust BRantz, so no.

hi im Yakko
This better be a placeholder.

Valkyrie Mollie
Farside scum reads Brantz, complains about Brantz' scum read of mollie, then goes and votes VM. Reasons are eh. That's close to meh. I don't have a clue, and it's anyone's guess if this is a scum wagon or not

Aeronaut
Justified wagon for previous player. Voted by a Town read.

Opinions?

I can show you a fairly recent example of a game being lost because someone couldn't logically see how Town could have a certain opinion/do what they thought was right. Town can cog-dis too. I try to see things from more than one view.

She did vote VM with this post. She went from nothing scummy with (Town reads) to saying they are essentially worthless (mollie's reads) I think a scum read's reads are worth something. You are right though, there isn't as much (very little cog-dis) as I thought just going from memory.

I like how she's expressed her scum reads, fought to be clear, without admitting she's wrong, came around to "though I know Titus thus, others might know her differently". Does this make her "Town I'll never ever vote"? No, but not a good Day 1 lynch IMO.

Did you read ? What is it about that makes you
mildly
uneasy? You called the vote in the post (171) the "shittiest ever" and " I want Brantz dead now." This doesn't seem to gel good with your other reads.

In post 368, T S O wrote:I also have yet to find a solid townread. This is not a good thing.

There's good reasons scum would say this. It's like saying "none of you are as Townie as me" with the added benefit of not having to give good reads. T S O's read's are superficial enough to look real, without adding anything new or shaking the boat much.

I'm Town reading Belisarius(whom T S O is scum reading) and VM (T S O is Town/scum reading this slot), and have a slight scum read on BRantz. T S O appears to Town read Elrirn up to his last post, then declares he doesn't trust him yet.

T S O isn't a Town read yet, but there is some common ground to start from. What are your thoughts on Aeronaut and Seraphim?

I'd like a Seraphim lynch Today, but it may be too late to start a wagon from scratch. Scratch that.

VOTE: Seraphim

Just because someone's not a firm Town read doesn't mean you want to burn the bridge this early. We might need to work together later. He can show me why he thinks what he did isn't scummy, and I'll adjust my read accordingly.

Should I throw away a BRantz scum read because I don't like a lot about T S O's catch up? In the scheme of things he doesn't appear an option for a lynch Today anyway. I think it's pretty clear the slots I'm willing to lynch.

@ TSO

Aeronaut- Has a lot of "crap posts" and his predecessor didn't look Town either. Probably scum.

Axlegreaser - His posts are "different", but I like where a lot of his questions go. Calling him Town.

Belisarius - Gut says Town. His posts look sincere, like he's puzzling it out.

BRantz - Was a gut scum read, downgraded to weak scum read. I'd vote here if none of the others have wagons.

Elbirn - Town read, asking good questions.

Farside Town read, aggravation reads real. Her prediction of Titus's play looks closer to this game than some of her other games too. I don't know how that affects my Titus read.

Hi im Yakko Weak Town read, waiting for more from this slot. He's voting BRantz.

Seraphim - Scum, completely ignoring the game. Lame excuses. Voting Belisarius as a gut vote.

T SO - Null, we disagree quite a bit. If that was all it took to scum hunt (looking for someone you disagree with), this game would be so much easier.

Tiershift - Lurking, I haven't seen him lurk before, that I remember. Possibly scum. I've seen scum take this approach, and I doubt it's an uncommon strategy.

Titus - I hope she's Town, I'm starting to have doubts though.

Valkyrie Mollie - Town. The push on BRantz looks real, I want more from GiF though. If my wagons aren't going anywhere, this is who I'd probably sheep.

Weak reads? Yeah. Shit reads? Probably.

Where I stand, right now? Yes.

Since you accuse me of being fake (scum), which read doesn't make sense from my point of view?

I've played with you?

This alt account is a super secret account!
Amazingly, the first game I came across was "Walrus and the Carpenter". You replaced in late, then got NKed. I guess I should play more micros.

What is your strategy this time, since it's established you're actively lurking. You once said in a game "Looking at past vengefuls, town is often very stupid/acting scummy, while scum is lurking and profiting." Do you feel this way for vengefuls only, and has your view changed, and if so how?

I think I've read a lot more games that have you in them (I once thought I could find secret scum tells if I read enough games) than played with you. Weren't you in "Reign of Flames"? I'm too lazy to look.

In post 391, Valkyrie Mollie wrote:That vote is justice and all that but why vote seraphim if you think it's too late to start a wagon on him?

Why? Time to deadline. I still think it'd net scum. I've asked if anyone Town reads the slot, and I'm sure I've outlined wjy I think it's a good shot at hitting scum. If I can't get support, I'll heave a sigh, and vote BRantz.

pedit @ Titus I'm sorry, could you re-rephrase that? I feel like you're using double talk. "can be very confident town or scum" and "Mollie falls into the latter and even she moves from them." sounds like "anything can happen".

I do agree that I think BRantz has less a chance of flipping scum now than when Day 1 was first getting going. Or less chance of being scum than Seraphim. I just read a Micro where TSO tried a similar ploy to Seraphim's, and it worked all the way to MYLO where he was lynched for the Town win. In "Walrus and the Carpenter" DP tried it, and was hung Day 1 as scum.

Seraphim has the best chance of hitting scum
IMO

@ Titus Tier right now, and I never said you were scummy. I just wanted clarification. Lurker wagons do work out good sometimes too.

@ VM My opinion It's not uncommon for "I'm not voting so and so's" and I see it as a good thing. I think it'd be harder (but not impossible) for scum to keep up a façade of strong Town reads. If they get flipped, and they're scum, you can get clues from how they treat their "never vote" players. If they've flipped scum, they've left clues behind. We just need to sort misdirection, distancing, and buddying. Sounds easy, huh?

*Disclaimer* This opinion is the author's and has not been fact checked, and is not a representation of how Mafiascum feels in general.

@ Titus You being so quiet overall, but it's hard to rebut silence. I've got better leads to work on while letting you post. Remember you've fooled me into supporting you (as scum) before. I'd worry more if I didn't have suspicions of you.

@ Elbirn I've been wrong a lot, so it's showing through. I'll try to hedge my bets less in the future. Of the lurkers, Seraphim needs to go the most. I don't trust, and thus scum read both Tier and TSO. Of the more active posters, well I've stated where I stand. I'm worried Titus will fool me
again
. I'm hoping that sheeping VM will work out good but I don't think Farside's scum. I feel much less confident BRantz will net scum. Did I mention Seraphim needs rope? I'm willing to hear Flubber out before I make any kind of read. I still think you're Town. Anyone I didn't mention isn't in consideration for Today's lynch so unless I'm specifically asked for a read on them ...

It's hard trying to think up something to trip up scum with. You can't tell inflection, sarcasm, or emotion as well in a post. I'll try to keep the inane questions and foot in mouth to a minimum.

@ TSO Bad meta is bad. Still doesn't address what you're doing this game.

@ Titus  Maybe. Maybe I'm just expecting more from you. My Town reads aren't really making me want to sheep them right now.

I fear if Sera gets replaced, we may lose a chance to kill a scum. Remember DP's play in Walrus? I see big similarities.

Different game, different players. But play that looks very much the same.

This post makes me think WP is scum and Sera is town.

Even if Sera was scum, town should want a replacement to get associations from Sera.

Mod: Sera's status please

I've heard this argument before and it's still is wrong. Save it for after the flip. What's going to be said if he flips scum? I bussed him?

@ Tier If you're honestly Town, and think I'm scum, build a case or ask me questions again. You said I didn't answer some.

*My opinion* I think BRantz looks a little worse with recent posts, but I think he's still relatively new (or not super experienced), so I buffer the read with that. I might not be here Tomorrow, so I'd like to hear a skeleton (at least) of any scum theories on me, please.

@ VM What do you think of Titus's soft claims? It seems like a not very good ploy if she were scum. IMO

I still don't see Bel scum.

I was completely wrong on Axle.

And more to come.

@ Titus you were making advances on a scum read on me yesterday. What are you thinking Today?

Sorry all, a multitude of Meat World cares has been stealing most of my time.

With all this claiming going on, I'm getting confused. I know what my Role PM says, and what I'm capable of. It makes sense from Jabberwocky, but it clashes with some claims.

I'm not Vanilla.

Let me get this straight, a mome rath passed the Vorpal Sword to ? who has to pick three slots that they can pass to?

I'm nameless, but can choose to keep it (VS). There are at least two more foes, according to the poem.

Farside's Celebratory Citizen claim is odd for a VT. Especially if she's the only one.

I thought I read somewhere that someone claimed Beamish Boy? I can't find it. If someone's keeping score at home, and could list out claims, that'd be great.

My Role fits perfectly with Jabberwocky. Without me, (my in game persona) there is no poem "Jabberwocky". He (Jabberwock) didn't last too long, but we still have foes to Snicker-Snack!

The Oysters were Townies in "Walrus and The Carpenter".

I am the one (in the poem) who Snicker-Snacks Jabberwock.

If we have all these Roles that can use the VP, then I'm really not that important. I would like slightly more than innuendos that I'm scummy. It might make help me help Town better in the future.

Anyone want to CC me?

In Imaginary Dreams scum and Town had identically named roles. That doesn't seem possible here, but I'm sure they've got safe claims.

Right now any conversation is a step in the right direction.

Something that bothers me about Seraphim replacing out is FA_Q2's claim. Yeah he said he was busy, but replacing out of a game where you're lynchproof (especially after expressing anger at being railroaded as scum) when he certainly hasn't site flaked is different from a replace out simply from being too busy.

Sara never died - I am in his slot.

Sometimes I make assumptions. I assumed we knew I was talking about his complaining about his recent meta (where he got shat on), not this game. Obviously.

I've never played with an unlynchable slot before, and I don't see it's utility in this game? Someone who has more experience with them can speculate on why a Townie would be unlynchable, in this situation.

As the mod will not clarify what the exact conditions are for my lynchproof I have to assume that the flavor provides the insight that I am lacking and that the right hands refers to town (it does also say that scum would cut me down with it so I think my interpretation is pretty damn solid in that respect). Is it possible that I am incorrect? I guess it is but I think that is only a remote possibility and I am more than willing to stake my neck on the fact that if mollie is town then I will not be lynched this day. If I am lynched then mollie is scum (and my death will have been more than worth it). I think that vindication is coming anyway as your case on farside is damn good and she has the vig shot to take care of that. A direct lie about your role is just shy of a confirmed cop guilty. The only other thing that I might take from the role PM would be that I might simply die if the sword ends up in scum hands but I do not think that is actually the case as that would be taking the role wording really loosely and does not fit all that well. Now, lynch me shoot farside (damn TSO is going to have to wait) and I will hope like hell that I am not killed in the night actions.VOTE: farside

UNVOTE:
""It seems very pretty," she said when she'd finished it, "but it's rather hard to understand!" (You see she didn't like to confess, even to herself, that she couldn't make it out at all.) @ good morning
When you get time, I'd be interested in the Roles and their mechanics. Especially ones like the TumTum Tree. :?:

pedit @ Elbirn I used to be a tunneler, and I'd write walls on why Town were scum all the time. * Waves at gm* I'm more cautious now. I need a little bit of that aggression back (I think).

I enjoyed my short stay in Town, and the company, even the scums!

@ FA_Q2 Maybe I needed it to make you lynchproof? Or just Town??? We nailed scum so fast (go team) we didn't get to see any mechanic interactions.

Ya see the thing is you didn't flip town, per se, as you didn't die. You just were town. I didn't kill you so I'm off the hook! *runs away*
