I only ask because he had the chance to self-hammer in 143-145 (at L-1) and instead claimed vengeful and wanted to know who to shoot. This doesn't line up with being a jester who can just enact his wincon (which he then flubs later).

I'm really just curious why everyone seems to blanket-believe him about his really horrible claim record, and why people were so eager to jump off of him and proclaim him a NK target.

A venge shot D1, *especially* from someone claiming to be a jester, is useless; it's just another random kill without information, that in normal games would have a very high chance of hitting Town; here, there's at least a 33% chance of that.

How, mathematically, does 33% fit into this statement?

I have no problem naming townreads. I just have none. I also, however, have no experience with bastard games, so I may be putting more value in normal-game normal-expectations than I ought.

And in any event, I still have to figure out how to (a) survive to endgame and (2) figure out where the lines are drawn. If I'm the only townie, then there's likely multiple scum teams, and the only thing preventing one from winning is the presence of the other. Or, heck, otherS, I imagine. As a singleton townie I'm no threat to scum teams.

I've never seen anyone in a game of mafia so single-minded about one topic literally the entire game, even when the rest of the players are trying to convince him otherwise. That's why I'd be fine voting him tomorrow; that sort of single-mindedness leads to mislynches (hey, he doesn't care who is lynched, as he's the only townie) and isn't beneficial to Town in general.

As for the quote? Well, I don't know how to express it. Mafia is a game of truth and lies, and the people who lie the best are the ones for which there is an element of truth. I guess ultimately what I'm trying to say there is, I think in this game it's going to be easy for a lot of people to point to me and say "oh he's third-party" since the only truth they need is "he's not the same alignment as me" to confidently say that.

Complexity 7-8, Bastard 3-4. I think I've said before that this is my first bastard game, so I figured I'd try and take it easy on myself. But I think the values were averaged for all of us anyways.

And I do agree that it's multiball. There's two Mewling Mafia exposed (Plotinus, wgeurts) and two that aren't (Mewthree somehow is just "Mafia" and Jeanne is "Mute Mafia") ... even if you discount Jeanne as a non-player, that still gives us one more bank of scum.
