So maybe this is dumb to ask, but why is there a problem lynching a claimed jester? It's not like it prevents you from winning yourself (in theory).

@massive: i think it is because the mafia need to get x mislynches in order to get to lylo and then win, and lynching the jester if we’re sure he is a jester aand not mafia fake claiming, it gives the mafia a free mislynch, taking them one step closer to their goal without furthering the town wincon.

also, anyone who voted for the fucking jester gets my vote. Because that shit was fucked up. It is anti-town a deserves votes. Even if you don't buy the jester claim, triggering a lynch at this point in the game and a vengeful kill is for sure something that the scum want to happen.

So yeah, vote stays on plotinus for being the main culprit with the vote shifting shenanigans with wrguts. granted, mew also had a late unvote, but that isn't ahs bad as the constant swapping of pltinus.

Wierd shit is happening for this wagon to have built and lingered for so long.

Yeah, that was lame. Need to stop n00bslipping, my newbie card expired towards the end of May. I didn’t notice he was jester for a while, I thought he was just being bad because in We Didn’t Playtest This he really botched his fakeclaim in twilight 1, so i’d seen him be obvscum as scum before. And then after the word jester was mentioned, I spent some time not understanding what that meant. I get it now!

because, the goal in a mafia game is to find and kill scum. Third Party are typically less of a threat, especially passive third party like lyncher/jester. When you have a nearly-confirmed jester, it is better to suffer him to live, and find and eliminate the scum. Now if it were liek cult or SK as third, they are jsut as or more dangerous than scum, and need to be eliminated.

Originally, when most of us voted him, we thought he was scum. Once he claimed jester, soem of us lingered thinking he was scum-claiming-jester as a save-his-ass fakeclaim. Once we realized he was a legitimate jester, a bunch of us backed off, because like you, we think jester lynch is stupid anti-town bullshit.

Given the mod team, I doubt Wgeurts is a normal jester. Vi hates third parties who can only win through anti-fun means. Additionally, LLD and GreyIce I think would be more creative than to include a vanilla jester.
