No, I doubt either would be lying about the ascetic modifier regardless of alignment. It's premature speculation but my thought there was more along the lines of possible role symmetry.
It's something more to keep in mind in a massclaim situation. (i.e. Is there an obvious reason why farside would double up on town ascetics or does it make more sense for one of them to be scum?)

One I use the following to determine actions during the night NAR No that doesn't mean those abilities are in the game, just how I resolve actions.
Two when I create a game I first create abilities, random org most abilities and then use what you lovely people sent me to match said abilities.
Trying to out guess the mod is a bad, bad idea.

As you've asked me my take of the game so far, I'd say it's pretty eh. You've got people claiming which always seems weird to me. For example, people are townreading Yume for claiming ascetic. I think if I were scum I'd claim ascetic since it is considered "correct" play and would be a great way to keep people from targeting me for the first few days. Yume also got pretty defensive when people questioned her on it.

Foxbird has been pretty quiet so far. I don't know if she's been busy or lurking.

Luna starts off pretty towny. She's asking questions and giving reads. My read on her gets muddled during the posts in the 400's though. She and Pie have a disagreement on a read and Luna wants Pie to admit she could be wrong. (post 400) This post bothers me but I'm having trouble explaining just why it does. A lot of the players in the game have expressed scum/town reads in absolute terms. Why does Luna need Pie to admit she could be wrong when she doesn't ask any of the other players if they could be wrong and want them to admit it? Then the thread got contentious and I don't know what to think of that all just yet. Overall I have no interest in lynching Luna today based on the way she started.

I get that there's ambiguity to the ascetic claim, but as an initial impression I still feel like town are probably more motivated to be up front with it whereas a scum ascetic would be more inclined to just let actions fail on them. I'm a vig that can't do anything unless someone else targets the player, so if my target does, we know someone wanted them dead and find out why, or decide beforehand on who should make the action into a kill. I'm actually an interesting mechanical asset in this game!

of issues with this.

The only way to confirm the role is if you actually kill somebody. But there are a lot of plausible explanations for why the kill would fail according to the mechanic you just gave: no one else targeted your target, someone else targeted your target but is a protective, someone else targeted your target but was roleblocked, you were roleblocked, etc.

In order to truly confirm or disprove your role, we would need to out more roles.
This is problematic.

I initially didn't like him lurking through this game while continuing to post on site (good summary of why: Post 854). Nothing in his catch up struck me as town, the couple points I thought had potential seemed to fizzle out.

I wanted to make Hades in Disney Villain UPick a scum treestump but Antihero wouldn't let me because he said the role only works as a town role, a scum treestump has the potential to wreck the game since their optimal play after dying is to spam the thread and make the game unplayable.
