havent read the posts in btwn my last posting, i just did some reflection in the shower and now that i think about it pooky's unwillingness to commit to hard pushes outside of shelly seriously worries me. i think acting in this way reflects how scum would want to proceed in the situation. put yourself in scum pooky's shoes.

suggesting an elim between him & shelly means two things
1) pooky avoids any damning interactions upon his scum flip
2) pooky avoids the possibility of a flagbearer elim

on the other hand, shelly has no such qualms about #1. (namely, if shelly is scum, i am strongly cleared upon a shelly scum flip)

If I were scum I would be doing all of the above - however I am town and my motivations are actually quite simple. Put yourself in town-me's shoes:


I know with 100% surety that Shelly is red - if I flip her, I will become an IC with 4 alive and 2 chances to yeet her partner - if you do not suicide, that is a near auto-win for me as I don't think you could possibly be scum with shelly. We simply eliminate the last 2 players other than me/you and take the easy win.

If you end up being the suicidal scientist - I would probably trust Gloria - she had the oppurtunity to hammer you yet did not take it, her actions are those of a townie trying to geniunely solve the game. Me and Gloria eliminate the last two players and we also win the game.

Now compare that to what happens if I were to push on TGP/Bulge who are the likely partners for Shelly - I think TGP is more likely than Bulge but if I am wrong and it's actually bulge.. Then what happens if we eliminate TGP? We wake up tommorrow with 5 alive lylo and Shelly holding the upper hand over me as TGP green flip was pushed by me.

I think the path for us is much much easier if we simply eliminate shelly here. Regardless of which player suicides I think we have a good solid town win.
