Why is that? Not this game seems to imply that you were recently mafia.
Does having recently been Mafia have any bearing on the likelihood of someone being Mafia here?

Answer: no, it does not.

VOTE: Alisae, defend the honor of Roger Rabbit!
VOTE: Aureal

This does not read like someone who is actually trying to understand what Alisae is doing, and then asking if it is town or scum. It reads like someone who wanted to pick someone to call scum.

Did you vote Alisae because you found thier questioning of Andante scummy, or would you say it was just an RVS vote?

I don't think that 61 comes from his as scum, for either possible alignment for Aureal.

There is also an attention to detail in his reading of Aureal's posts that reveals intent to sort.

Can you paint me a better picture here. I'm missing how you got this conclusion.

I feel like if Klick is a wolf that could be pretty easy to fake, I imagine the process is just him pointing out what he sees.
Abstract mental calculus around the variables of [that being the only thing in the entirety of the first few pages which he commented on at all], [the angle in which he read and presented an alternative view of Aureal] [attention of detail of it] vs a world in which they are scum/town, and a world in which they are scum partners.

I doubt that painted a better picture, but that will have do. I don't know that convincing you of my read on Klick all that high of a priority for me atm, seeing as he is at *checks vote count* zero votes, and we are still in early day 1, so who is even married to their reads at this point?

This post was half a joke, but basically I read Aristeia's post as calling you town (I have read seen that I was apparently wrong), and I stopped and asked my self "what about Post could possibly make Aristeia think that Datisi is town?"

The answer I thought of was "maybe Aristeia thinks that Datisi is the type of scum player who would feel pressure to be more present at day start - or at least, if he was going to do a one and done before bed, pressure to make it have something more to it then 9 has"

And that seemed like as solid of a reason as any to declare a page 1 town read.

So yes, I don't see why you'd wait. Risk/reward is on your side.

This might be a spicy take (/s), but herta's posts are bad.

I also think that Aureal's actual responses to me make me feel less good about their alignment then Klick's theoretical explanation for their earlier posting.

Myko and Klick are both town.

Andante's reentry to the thread without having read anything makes more sense if she thought that she was at E-1, so I don't hate her interaction with Klick. But I also don't really town read Andante, would say null, so feels weird defending her

I don't really feel like Aureal is arguing in good faith. When Myko pushed back on their cross vote, Aureal took an incredulous angle that obviously town should hunt inside people voting them
In post 151, Aureal wrote: I'm sorry, are you seriously trying to argue that town should not scumhunt among people who are voting for them??? I think that's often the most natural thing to do- who else is going to have a better perspective on what's accurate about arguments about me than me?
But then, when talking about Herta's vote asked
In post 201, Aureal wrote: What makes you certain Herta's vote was RVS?
Which makes me feel like they have not actually looked at Herta at all

And they also have not appeared to make any statement about my own alignment.

So it does not really look like she is hunting in her voters, she is just fighting Myko. Which makes her response in the first quote I pulled feel like it was just a response to win the argument vs talking about what they were doing, which seems more likely to come from scum to me

Oh. I misunderstood your post then.

So you have a role, and you were informed that there are multiple people with your role?

If that is the case, then from where I am sitting it now makes much less sense to confirm/deny, and I regret having done so

If you think that the scum team might have at least one player with your specific role, then doing this confirm/deny of other players having that role seems like a good way to hand them a guide book on where to kill on a PR hunt

If the role is good, then they can target people who say that have it.

If the role is weak, then they can focus their kills on the people who don't have it, thereby hunting for more powerful PRs

4? A little bit too much
5? Way too much but possible if both are wolves
This makes me feel like the mass claim would not be as helpful as you think that it would be.

Even if you assume that both scum have the role, there is just enough ambiguity, that the scum could do a 1 claim it and 1 doesn't claim, and the final numbers are still falling in your realm of "possible"

I also am not sure that I agree with the premise, and think that if I were designing a game around that role I would only give it to one scum That role looks like Spicy Vanilla. A Villager/Goon, but with a fun provable name.

So unless you are operating under the assumption that this game is mountainous + Spicy Villagers/Goons, then my expectation would actually be 1 Spicy Goon, and 1 scum PM. And then a couple Spicy villagers +
redacted

And suddenly this mass claim helps the scum team find the redacted.

I feel like Datisi's response to reading your suggestion seemed fairly in line with my own: Your base assumption that both scum would JOATs seems overly presumptuous. And the information that you would get from it seems like it would leave a fair bit of ambiguity.

From where I was sitting your scum read on him seemed to stem mostly from a place of : Datisi and I are thinking about this differently, and I think that that difference is because of us having different alignments.

While I think that it is town indicative for you that you came to that conclusion, the argument is not particularly convincing to me, given my thought about the mass claim were actually closer to Datisi's thoughts then yours.

I was considering the possibility of Aristeia scum, because they seem to be navigating the day in an way that feels like it is trying to be unintrusive / trying to be amicable, I did not like their push onto Myko, and trying to pivot the day onto the lowest content poster at this stage of the game seemed weird too.

But now that I am thinking more of Herta as scum, that softened that read, because obviously would not pivot onto their partner at that stage in the game either.

So I am back once again to just Aureal and Herta as scum reads, and with those both being the two leading wagons, and perfectly fine with either option as the day 1 elim, I am just kind of... here now

Ari and Ali, you both missed a perfect opportunity to tell gimli we were mass claiming if we were an informed role, and asking him to answer right as he repped in. smh.

Herta claimed before they repped out, so it was less about the mass claim and more about spot checking if they were consistent.

Oof.

Gimli, why is your incredulousness at people scum reading Herta'a small iso limited to the people who are voting for you right now?

For reference, my "great" post

I also think that Aureal's actual responses to me make me feel less good about their alignment then Klick's theoretical explanation for their earlier posting.
Why did me saying this not get a reaction like Ari saying it did? Because I think I am town?

In that case, why did someone you think is town saying it, not lead to questioning the scumminess of others doing it?

Gimli, would you say that the method of catchup you did this game is standard for you?

(If yes, can you link some rep in games for me so I don't have to hunt for them myself?)

I asked the question because you asked me why I thought you were scummy, and one of the reasons was that your method of catching up: the spoiler tags for a page by page catch up, where you grabbed lots and lots of quotes - seemed performative in nature especially given the size of the game at this point. I wanted to double check that it was not just a play style thing.

Because I had the time, and did not to actually wait for your response, I went and scanned through your rep in games already. I did not see that style of catch up in any game actually, although to be fair most of them were repping in much later, I did find one where you came in on page 10 of day 1 (compared to page 16 of Day 1 this game), and you responded to an average of less then 1 post per page

Spoiler:
1 quote on page 1

0 quotes on page 2

1 quote on page 3

2 quotes on page 4

0 quotes on page 5

0 quotes on page 6

1 quote on page 7

0 quotes on page 8

0 quotes on page 9

Compared to this game, where during your catch up, you grabbed an average of 9 posts per page

So yeah, your catch up looked very performative. Designed to look like a townie with lots of thoughts about the game vs the things that town you would have actually gravitated toward.

In post 532, Gimli wrote: but wave I want you to express clearly why you think I'm scummy. I don't think you did that yet, even though you seem so sure about it.
I also hate your approach to the idea that I scum read you vs the idea that Ari scum reads you.

Your earlier response that you just glanced over my scum read of your slot because it came without reason, compared to Ari's which came with a vocalized argument that you were able to fight against, feels like scum to me.

You have since then left me as one of your strongest town reads, while trying to get me to make an argument that you can fight against. Which also feels like scum to me. You seem more focused on fighting to make people think that you are town, then actually just... being town.

(And also, I agree that Herta's lack of content / pop in not addressing the wagon they were on / repping out, all seem more likely to come from scum)

you found a wrong answer lol

but okay wave good talk
You seem to misunderstand the question that I was seeking the answer to.

I was not asking "is this how he does this as scum?" or "is this how he does this as town?" I was asking "is the thing that I am seeing as scummy explained by a playstyle difference?" -- and I found that answer to be no.

That does not inherently make you scum, but it lets me default back to reading this game the way I see it without needing to compensate for a play style difference.

You wanted me to read you off of this game, and the answer I got form the meta dive is that I can read you off of this game. But reading you off of this game I think that you are scum.

I think that in most of Gimli's interactions with Ari, he does not appear to be talking in a way that makes sense to be a townie talking to their top scum read [who they think is currently pushing you in bad faith.]

He looks like he is talking to a townie that he is trying to get to re-evaluate him (especially early on) / discredit her read if she doesn't (more of this later on).

Once I made it clear that I did not wish to interact with him on my scum read on him (largely because I find that to be a fruitless endeavor for both parties, and one of the worst ways to get a genuine re-evaluation of a scum read) I am now being described as tunneled to discredit my read as well.

You don't think repping into a slot that had already hit e-1 would influence what you are perceiving as "keeping options open"

Because I vaguely agree with Ari's point that landing on a scum pool of exactly the people already voting for him is interesting. Although, my thought was more that he could be trying to not ruffle other players feathers into voting him.

I also don't think that he has very many town reads (other then you or me) that he really married him self to so strongly that he could not walk them back fairly trivially as read progression.

I cannot tell if Aristeia is mind controlling me or what, but the cases that she has made hav resonated with me. Enough that I am even questioning my town read of Klick from earlier.

Which has left me a little less sure on where I want to go, and feel like I should ground myself again
