Okay, you may have missed this fact, given the poor quality of humor education in modern schools (and ancient schools, for that matter), but a good joke comes from a place of superlative honesty. Scum players struggle to achieve this genuine sense of openness because they are constrained by the need to deceive the town - and therefore, when they crack alignment-specific jokes, their humor is forced and weak.

I've just come back from a long break, yes - I've played one game not listed, which is Charge Mafia, and I was scum in that; my other scum games are (which is unfortunately a complete and utter mess to read), TV Tropes Mafia (in which I was a quicklynched Survivor), and Ozy and Millie Mafia.

And I've never gotten into the groove of scum except possibly in Communications Breakdown 2 - and I got stupid lucky in that game, so I don't think it really counts.

Consider the following two strategies. One: everyone places their votes as normal. Two: everyone places their votes as normal

unless

that vote would be the L-1 vote; in which case they state their intention to vote and hold their vote until the 'hammer' votes or someone else unvotes.

Advantage of One: it is simple.
Disadvantage of One: if an L-1 vote is placed on a Jester while that player is online, selfhammer, Jester wins, game over.

Which is more important to you? A modicum of effort, or

victory?

Because even if it were a one in a billion chance that zipperflesh were the Jester, I would take 999,999,999 games of slight inconvenience over 1 game lost.
