As for the guns thing, we could have a pow-wow over it, and discuss what to do with them. And that could work. And if someone dies, then we'll know who has what guns, which would be useful. Which is kinda what I wanted to do.

Well the way I look at it, if we have someone we strong scumread... If Cyrus pulls, then hurts, then passes to me... If there's someone we really want dead, two pulls on said person = 1/4 and then 1/3 chance of death, and I like those odds. If we hit scum I don't think it's a waste.

Could you explain the bolded, please, probability isn't my thing, why would the order make any difference? I would have thought you would want to use your hurt, then pull, in case you go bang before hurting the person you are finding scummy?

Well here's my take on it, and keep in mind I'm not a probability expert either.

In this scenario, Mollie took two actions. She shot Flames, and THEN she shot herself. If she's going to do both, why shoot Flames first and herself second? The odds of Flames dying is 1/5, and her odds of dying are 1/4 (This is if one shot has been fired already, which I think there was before it was passed to her?) So, if she's going to do both, why give Flames the lowest odds of death and herself the highest?

The optimal play from my point of view would be one of the following.

1. Shoot self (1/5) and then flames (1/4).
2. Shoot flames (1/5) and then pass.

Option 1 is riskier but has better odds of killing your target, option 2 is safer for yourself but less likely to kill. With my move, which was a near identical scenario, I went with option 1 to have higher odds of killing Grib. And if he still hasn't died, I have another shot, with a 1/3 chance of killing. I like the odds.

I don't think it's going out on a limb to think the worst case scenario and assume that the gun you are holding is going to kill you. We've already had two people die being careless. So that's where that came from. If you want to factor in the other 2 guns, fine, I'm probably wrong to count them out. But keeping in mind one of them still knocks you out, and the other one we don't even know what it does. All effects sound negative to me.

If 1 shot has already been fired, from a 6 round revolver, then it is a 1/5 chance that the next shot kills. Not 5/6. That doesn't even make sense.

I'll humor you, let's say I am scum. How in the world would that make me informed of what gun is which? Because nothing in the setup says that scum knows what the guns are. Unless you're scum and you're telling me that Ika has been keeping you and your partner in the loop on that?

Yes but only 1 shot has a round in it. with a fresh gun, that's 1/6. When you fire a shot, now that one possibility has been eliminated, the odds are now 1/5.

Post 70 V. 124: Shooting each other or passing guns back and forth, with the idea that the recipient would have to put a gun to their own head, on paper sounded like a good way to simulate RVS in a game that doesn't have voting; by paying attention to who is willing to shoot who, and who is passing guns to who, we could start seeing little associations. Like why didn't so and so pass a gun to what's his name?

In practice, this didn't work and we had two people die in the span of something like 5 posts. I think it's fair to be a bit gun shy after that. Pun intended.

I even admitted to it being a paranoia, and even in your last post you said you can see the town in that. I also didn't say you were scum, I stated the basis for my paranoia and then I asked why you townread me. Your objection then is that I said something more about my thought process instead of just asking a question? Your idea that others would jump on my own paranoid delusions, something that shouldn't be compelling evidence for anyone but myself, and use it as a reason to push you, doesn't make sense to me. And if anyone did I'd have considered it a weak push on their part.

The Flames V. Elbirn Exchange: I just doublechecked the rules/setup info from post 0 through 3 or so, and there's nothing there about scum having additional info. That's where my claim came from. His response links to the micro queue, which I didn't even think to check before making my claim. I also initially didn't notice his response as I was too busy babbling with him about probability when he thought that 1 shot fired from a revolver meant the next shot had a 5/6 chance of being a bullet, which melted my brain.

Regardless there is a 1/18 chance of any of those shots killing anyone, and then all the hurts are used and scum might as well admit they're scum because nothing anyone does affects the games outcome. Ika might as well just go ahead and calculate results and tell us who won once all hurts are used.
