Really not liking the run of cdb's posts. Context gets lost in writing, but its reminding me of a certain scum game in Orlando, tone wise. As for inspie, Im not sure I get it. The joke or the votes.

Can you explain which game you're thinking of?

- Fenchurch

1. I needed a way to connect to the game, a baseless reaction fishing vote seemed like a good way to go. Elmo hasn't had much contact with the game thus far, seemed like a good place to place it. As I'm now pretty happy voting Nexus at this point in time (
vote Nexus
) I can remove it. The Nexus vote can be explained by his posts since I voted.

As for why this long, a cdb vote was tempting, but as I say context can be lost in posts, and I wasn't confident enough to put a vote down, especially without a chance to hear him out.

2. It was a larger game in the second half of the meet. In it, CDB got pressured almost immediately and he got very flustered and angry very quickly and flipped scum. I still have suspicions but as face to face and forum mafia are different beasts I don't want to vote him on a vague tell

The vote feels opportunistic to the extreme. Especially following on from what is a line of enquiry, surely an explanation is warranted before placing the vote down.

The issue is that I can't argue with statistics. It also doesn't represent a single game. So it immediately took me out of this game. I can joke about it, but it's a pretty nasty (and unintentional, I presume) way to make me start on the back foot, regardless of alignment. Post 10 shows my feelings in regards to that. After that the game took off, I didn't have a place in those conversations (or that much of an interest). The baseless vote was to get me involved. Which it did.

Me too, this russian roulette style of game is not helping matters either, though AV isn't a horrible vote and looking through his iso's it's not just the me vote, it's the cdb vote as well. I'm not ready to lynch yet though, especially since I'd be surprised if anyone has a complete view of the game thus far, with a number of posters having barely posted.

You didn't have questions for me?

This is why I hate shorter and shorter deadlines. You have someone like inspie away for a number of days and it really messes things up. It means people can get away with making 4/7 posts.

Russian Roulette, a wagon builds on a player almost randomly, then dissipates, and so on until time is up.

My thoughts, you are quite obviously town, your tone as town and your interactions with CES make it so. Hito has entered the game well. Nexus I am willing to wait on. I keep having my doubts. My vote on AV was a long time coming. When he made the vote, I was having my doubts about nexus and it appeared not only opportunistic but like he had only very quickly skimmed the game. Putting someone at L-1 when you don't have a handle on the game (151) and haven't really given an opinion on someone does feel scummy. The reason I took so long to vote was because, and I realise this isn't the best reason, I didn't want to give the impression that I was just OMGUSing. Looking back, putting a case down with my vote would have been a better way to do that.

I am not sure what withholding the mason claim does, either. I'm happy with my vote, I reiterate that there are players I want to see more of, and players (CDB, Shanba) that I probably should have a better read on by now and don't.

I have this (probably wrong)idea of how CDB plays, and I feel he is more engaged as town. The pressure was off of him so I felt that it would be an idea to look at him. That said, I was unhappy with my decision, but I was away and by the time I got back the thread was open so couldn't change it.

Wow, ok so we have gone 34 hours without a post. Thats... a thing. So Ampersand is giving me pause and thats worrying, the Fenchurch side of things has given me town vibes. In F2F that is usually indicative of Fenscum. But there we go. I obviously think CDB is more likely town, since I unvoted Nexus I've been getting a town read off of him due to his style of posting and I dont know about Shanba. Elmo and Primate haven't posted enough for me to gain a read, however lurking to victory might be the optimal strategy here. (although replacing out might not be!) Elmos posts haven't struck me as particularly town.

I wonder if this is a case of knowing each other too well now to be able to form proper reads without second guessing ourselves?

It would help if I posted. I am still working out why I am struggling to read people. Even the people I find town, like Ampersand and Nexus, I am iffy about. Because CES is tricksy and I've been wrong about Fenchurch so many times. Playwise I'd suspect CDB the most, but the track result makes it unlikely (but not impossible), Elmo, there is a IIoA there, but I am doubting myself over whether thats just indicative of the whole game, and Im looking at Elmo, because there is a lack of posting. I feel like I could vote Shanba as well, I get the impression that his reads are all surface ones, his last post I don't like, it felt like too many words for a simple point, which is a theme throughout his posts. Too many words for a lack of depth seems like a shitty reason to vote someone. Especially when I am not sure about anyone else.

Im not in prod range. The second vote wasn't naked, it was at that point I hadn't felt you had done anything.
unvote
though. I'm a bit annoyed by the "weak" statement. It hasn't helped that I seem to post when others aren't. Not anyones fault however but I am interested to know how you would have gotten into the game? Especially since give or take a Tammy, Im not sure if anyone has really "gotten into" the game.

I mean I have clearly stated where I am with the game. I'm not going to start nit-picking at various things and calling them scummy, because A. it would be disingenuous and B. I'm not sure anyone is that invested. Town Prozac (self meta) would only go for things had he actually stuff to go for. Scum Prozac would probably be pushing harder at this point. As you guys know, my scum game is better than my town game.

Your vote on CDB is interesting given my results. What are your thoughts in regards to that?

It's stupid, it's a "too good to be true" read. I have an absolute town read on you and varying degrees of mehness on everyone else. I wouldn't vote based off of it.

I think there would be similarities.

My thoughts on Shanba are the padding of his posts and the lack of deep reads.

I cant remember what Nexus's favourite role is, but my knowledge is such that the only person in this game who's favourite role wouldn't be town would be me. Of course, thats neither here nor there.

I don't know if I was blocked.

I am doing a quick skim, and having read the first half of the game I now feel I can form words round my gut suspicion of Amper.

First, a bit of reflection, the (first) Elmo vote, wasn't a great move. The rest of my play and my thoughts I am not so unhappy about.

Next, the thing I noticed on what is an extremely quick read is that my memory of this game is flawed. I really felt put off at the start of the game, and certainly didn't post as much as I would have at the start of the game because of the stats thing. I attributed it wrongly to CDB. After the initial joke, he had his own stuff to deal with. It was actually Amper who pushed it further. Post 13 is a vote, which is fair enough, I guess, to start a wagon, but it kept being pushed and I am not really sure why.

In post 25, Ampersand wrote:

Porochaz, speaking honestly, do you think the statistics point to you being a good lynch here?

Is a weird question to ask me, all I can do in this situation is wind myself up in knots. Post 28 there is a push for AV to put his vote on me, something they later vote him for.

Post 36, considering the votes on me, I'm placed in the town pile. Scum Shanba and inspie haven't even been mentioned by them yet. I mean granted this is all on page 2 yet, but its all fairly inconsistent. Especially since Post 36 town read CDB is suddenly not in their next post.

Poro - Might be scum but I'm not great at reading Poro. My beef with the stats thing (and my tiny scum-ping) was:
Presumably Poro is 'more likely to be scum' because he picks scum more often. But we didn't pick our roles in this game. The fact that he doesn't point this out made me think that maybe, he didn't recognise that difference because he still got scum.
CES thinks: Poro might be scum because he feels like he's not really connected to the game that much.

That reasoning is bullshit. But I feel that everything that Amper has done in relation to me is to put suspicion and pressure on me, without really pushing it too hard. There is a post 76 I think, where Fen asks the EXACT same question Nexus just did. I don't know why she would do that, other than to pile pressure on.

I mean, in the future cause it won't happen now, someone look at the evolution of their reads, it simply isn't there! I mean AV is whom Im looking at just now.

I wish I had done this earlier.

Please people look at Amper tomorrow, why do you think they are town here? Im going to keep skim reading, but whether I get another post in...

Poro, I kinda asked this before but, why did you think we were voting for you at this point?

Because I had a feeling that you didn't actually know.

Yarr. In re-reading you just sounded off to me at several points and I think everyone else has been at least somewhat townish.

See, this is not a reason.

vote Ampersand
The reads aren't consistent all the way through. Im getting pressure from them yet no vote, because they don't want me voted for. I am completely confused by their play looking back and I am unfortunately unable to expand more than, WTF. I'm trying to make posts that would take over an hour for me in minutes. Bleh.

Shanba is another I dont know what to do with. Im quickly isoing now, because my skim read was just a consistant need to vote me. Which didn't change my points from my previous read on him, see iso for details.

If I had another day Tammy would be worth a look. But not today.

I mean it's things like this and the stats. How the hell do I respond to it. I can't. It's there as a thing that I can't push back on, I cannot defend myself, I can't say you are wrong or anything.

Also, I don't know why I need to. You have consistently with me gone "That's scummy, but he's town." Which is weird when others are ready to vote for me quite easily.

I would need to look at Tammy more. So not today.

Elmo, poor compromise, but would do so.

I am a tracker. I am going to die tonight anyway! Or if not you are going to run me up tomorrow. For me, this is a no win if I am scum!

I also have a result on you. Why when I am already in the shit would I claim little. It would make more sense for me as scum to throw myself under the bus and take a townie down with me.

You are right.

You are wrong to vote me CDB. I wish I could work out in 5 minutes how to make you see this.

I have the Bunny of Towniness hopping up and down at you.

At the risk of turning it back to me, voting for someone who can't respond currently and who hasn't had much suspicion on them before now, when there are at least 3 other lynch candidates on the table seems a bit crappy

Taking a brief post out of my self-imposed break to say "yay town".

I was very confused as to how to play this. But probably could have played better than I did, I have to remember for starters that forum play is not the same as IRL play. Oh well...
