/Invitational 13: The battle of Yarmouk. Decisive victory!

In 610 AD, something new happened in the desert of Arabia. A new religion was born. First small, but through the times more heard by the world. Where it first considered only a couple of bedouins, soon whole cities converted to the Islam. The death of it's profet didn't stop the Muslims from trying to spread it, sword in the hand. Powered by something the world hadn't seen till that point, fighting for a religious cause, and under leadership of one of the best military leaders the world had seen up till that point, it wasn't hard to see how people wanted to convert to the Islam. Beyond being entirely reasonable, everything seemed to go right for the Muslims, as if they were being protected by a deity. Soon enough, the cities in the desert of Arabia were all united and the world would know who the Arabs were. The other nations of the fertile crescent, the Eastern Roman empire and the Sassanid Empire had never had to consider a third power in the region, but now suddenly united and fighting for a cause, the Arabs proved quite the match for them. They didn't stay in the desert and under lead of the sword of Allah Khalid ibn al-Walid they moved up to better lands, towards Syria and the holy land. These had recently been fought over between the Sassanids and the Romans, where the Romans had finally recaptured those lands and they weren't just going to give it up to a couple of bedouins. Huge armies were hired and send to deal with every single muslim thread there. Khalid maneuvered the Romans into a decisive battle at the fields of Yarmouk, which would decide over the future of the holy lands, the Islam, and much of the worlds history.

Rules:

1) Be nice. To me and to your fellow players.
2) Blue is my color. Please don't use it.
3) You know how to vote. Do it bolded.
4) You know how a lynch works. When the majority of the votes is on a person, he gets lynched.
5) If you don't get a majority before the deadline, the person with the most votes at that point gets lynched. If there are multiple people with the most votes, the person who acquired them first gets lynched.
6) please do not break the game by artificial means, that's no fun for anyone.
7) this is a nightless game. It has 6 town and 3 scum.

Khalid had always been appreciative of the strengths and weaknesses the men he commanded. He knew very well that the lightweight armor the Arabs used was no match for the Roman equipment and a straight out battle was not an option. But these men knew the desert like no other, and like every battle Khalid fought, here again he had chosen a field with the desert in his back. Should things go wrong, escape would always be possible.

All role pm's are out, which means you are ready to play!

It is now day 1, with 9 alive it's 5 to lynch.

Deadline is in 2 weeks

Good question, no-lynches do not exist in a nightless.

The person with the most votes at that point gets lynched. If there are multiple people with the most votes, the person who acquired them first gets lynched

Do you actually mean the person who acquired the votes first or do you mean the person who was least recently below that number of votes? There's an important difference!

Well then
. You try being jovial about deadline lynch rules :igmeou:

I was actually going for annoying though, not jovial. I'd been bugging myko the past couple days in scumchat about the game not starting and it hardly seemed appropriate to stop just because it opened.

Ha! I'm loving the sarcasm level already.

But seriously, where did you get that DeathRowKitty was "simulating joviality" when he was asking about deadline lynch rules?

Two things. First, the exclamation mark in "There's an important difference!" sounds like it's trying hard to be light-hearted. And in the first post, he writes "Die. Scum. Die." all on different lines. Seems like some serious thought has gone into that formatting, and that's more likely from scum trying to write a jovial post, rather than town who would be more likely to just dash it off.

And no sarcasm, you're currently my top town read.

I'm having surgery on March 1st. I'm supposed to be recovering until March 6th (though if I'm stuck at home all day for some of that time, that may actually make me able to post more than usual.) I can't take any pain medication for a week before the surgery, so I'll probably be pretty grumpy and stressed then, but I'll try to keep it out of the game thread.

I didn't like panzer's post for basically the same reason that Fishy didn't like DRK's. I don't have a read on DRK.

I can think there are good reasons to vote DRK without thinking that panzer was using good reasons when he voted. I can think panzer is scummy even when I think he votes with good reasons if I think the way he does so is off. Also fishy puns.

Fishy puns are hilarious and original.

@chamber: well, which is it here? Are panzer's reasons bad, is his post off, or is there something else?

@kitty: what's wrong with panzer's post? To me, it really doesn't exude effort like DRK's.

At some point I'm going to accidentally vote for the wrong kitty here, so it's essential we get rid of one before LYLO.

On the first sentence - sure. On the second, the reason I want you to elaborate is that I'd like to know why you are voting for panzer.
