The gate is amazing. Sand/gravel doors aren't exactly easy to implement, so putting iron bars on top of that and synchronising a second triple extender is a bit crazy. Clearly, I need to step it up a bit.
(also from my testing even worldedit can't do bigger nether portals without them bugging out, so you'd need direct access to the region files on your own computer, and be decent at using MCEdit... and never cause a block update next to the portal.)

Well, you could have figured it all out by yourself with absolutely no reference to popular designs or knowledge of naming conventions. It's... possible.

Nope. Apparently I left it up last time we played and they decided to squat. I've sent them the map and shut down the server now, but someone's made the IP public and this kind of thing will probably happen again unless I can get the IP changed somehow.
PEdit: yeah, we use it for PvP and stuff.

Spoiler: in other news,
This one is pretty obviously done with a brush, but I quite like the effect. It's so satisfying when an area is bright enough to see clearly, but still spawns hoards of monsters.

why dont you use.... like torches or something.
Because glowstone is pretty. And I want mobs to spawn.

Actually. With the new features in the Inbox/Outbox, I can tell that he hasn't even
seen
the PM I sent him on Tuesday.
That was always possible unless you were sending to multiple recipients.

So I need somewhere to vent. I have to make a 5-wide staircase that leads from y=88 to y=185. Should be simple enough, right? WRONG. I dislike staircases where the height of the roof increments by one block with every step. Incrementing by three every three blocks gives a much more satisfying effect for mid-length staircases, and if the lowest point of your roof is around 8 blocks high including the stair block, increments of five can look very nice. See the problem yet? No? Then you need lessons in OCD.
185-88=97
97
Ninety seven.
Which has two factors.
1
and 97
IT'S A BLOODY PRIME NUMBER

Go though the town portal, in front of you and to your left you'll see a nether brick tunnel with several pillars of lava in front of it. Follow it to the end and you'll come to a garden with my portal in it, which leads to the entrance.

Also, when a lava flow block falls on top of a water source block, the water is turned to stone.
And the two data values in the code for each block (8 and 9 for water, 10 and 11 for lava) don't correspond to whether the block is a source or not, they note whether the block should try to spread on a game tick. If it can't spread for a few ticks, it becomes "still" and won't try to flow until it's updated.

There's 8 available as a prize for the first maze, but Claus spawned them in so I don't know if you want to consider them legit or not.

Try rebooting Minecraft. If that doesn't work you may need to allocate more memory to Java.
In post 6901, xRECKONERx wrote:Also, is it possible to move lava and create a "river" kinda like you can do with water?
Yep.
In post 6902, xRECKONERx wrote:okay, now when we try to mine dirt outside the house the blocks are immediately filling back up...
Sounds like lag unless you're very very close to spawn.
And as for the maze: there is no part that should kill you. There is one point which involves lava, but it's clearly visible from 15+ blocks away. And yeah, hugging a wall won't work.

Looks awesome! I also like the look of fire.

how do i "allocate more memory to java"?
EDIT: ok, can screenshot & mine shit now, still have the neverendinglavabucket
I do it though Magic Launcher (under the "Advanced" tab of setup, 2048 usually works for me), an alternative to the standard Minecraft launcher which also lets you load mods and stuff really easily without fucking up your .jar files. If you don't want to use that you have to mess around with commands attached to the shortcut extension, which is fiddly and doesn't always work.
€: The bugged lava bucket is an old thing. If it's just reversed (it has lava when it appears empty), try picking up some water when it appears full. Usually fixes it.

Your current design won't allow for that, sorry. It's because the spread range and the fall detection range are different.
However, it would be pretty easy to rig it up so that the dirt pushes up, the water pushes all the crops forward, and the dirt retracts again after the water drains away.

Ah, I did the "/warp" thing on purpose. It allows some "secret" warps to be created
SEEKRIT WARPS? You never tell me anything
You can list them, you know...
