That's cute.

You make it sound as if Mafia isn't primarily based on guesswork and confbias.

I've got experience and gut, too.

I don't know know how many games you've actually played, but Scum's not going to be given to you on some scientific platter.

There's not one player who isn't biased or doesn't use guesswork to find Scum. I mean, .

CCC playing mafia: "And here, based on this fragment of Equinox under this powerful microscope, we can ascertain once and for all that he is, indeed, Scum. That'll be all, class."

There's always going to be a
bit
of guesswork involved. Possibly quite a lot, especially early in the game. But a good case will avoid confirmation bias and be able to point to its foundations.

I look forward to proving my approach sometime when I survive beyond day one.

How many what? How many foundations a good case should point towards? All that it has, preferably. And a
strong
case will have several.

That I've played before? Let's see, there were a couple of games of Werewolves a few years back... and there was a recent game on another site that's just now finished which I started after I was voted off here. That's all. I haven't played much Mafia yet at all.

1109-1119 is just disappointing.

They should have listened.

And CCC, the more experience you gain playing Mafia the more your gut can pick up on things. Small, small things that aren't easily describable. Ever saw an adept in any sort of skillset that had a hunch, a gut feeling, or just knew? That's what can happen when you've played over 150 games of Mafia. Not perfection, but incremental advancements in skill.

I wonder if Hayato had the forethought to remotely consider my perspective, considering I was right.

He couldn't see the forest for the trees. I saw the forest: I couldn't name all the trees. Gut experience.

Chaos has been a member of this site for nine years.

He should know better. It's like he blatantly ignored my whole ISO.

If he clings to the ignorance... it'll cost Town.

Like, really? You have 9 years of experience dude.

Where's your head?

Both of you putting boring on a pedestal seals Town's fate.

The problem is that IV is bent against me for whatever reason, so he's being an idiot, for lack of a better word.

I wonder if he unscrewed his eyes and ears and is actually considering anything I said.

If not, and he vetos anything against boring, we lose.

IV will function as the counter-weight against a boring lynch this game.

Unless, this Day, he wakes up.

I think Drixx has hinted at the relative scumminess, in his eyes at least, of the players in the game so far.

Ideally, in the current situation, one wants the scummiest-looking player to present his case
first
, in the hopes of giving Mafia less information to work with than Town; hence, I expect that, if asked at the time of his last post, Drixx would label Chaos as scummiest and Boring as Towniest of the unconfirmed players.

Of course, after looking through their rankings and justifications against each other, he might yet change that order.

Every time I've ever seen an adept in a skillset easily produce some surprising result, that adept has always been able to explain the basis for that result (often in excruciating detail, and sometimes I did not understand that explanation). Often, it was based on noticing something that I had not noticed, but the adept could always point out what he had noticed.

While "gut feeling" has its place in a game like Mafia, I still think that you oversold your case rather drastically.

Oh, you are such the perfect little townie, listening to everything you're told.
Exactly part of what I felt from her play all game. You should pull on that loose end a bit more.

Well, whatever her alignment, Boring is playing really well. She looks much more Townish than the other two, and she's presented a very nice case against HayatoBL.

Looks pretty convincing to me. I still think Hayato's more likely mafia than Boring.

...I also think she's a fast learner. She'll make a very effective player in future games.
