The people who enjoy urf are the same people that enjoy aram. Lower skilled members of the community that don't care about getting better or trivial things like having a balanced experience. Essentially people who are bad and do not care that they are bad and only want to "have fun" by shooting a bunch of lux moves because if you shoot enough free skillshots eventually you'll hit one and you don't have to worry about pesky things like low accuracy. mana or cooldown to ruin your "late game fantasy". The irony is like...every game of lux ends in URF so like...just play lux and every game will be urf and you can play ranked and learn to play league which is a joyful yet arduous experience.
I mean I enjoy arams too, but there's nothing fun about being killed on respawn for 10 minutes straight because the enemy team rolled better pics than you. I don't like it about aram either but at least when you pick up some of the worst stuff there's normally something you can do.

I like ARAM for what it is. A short abstraction of league where you can focus on making the most of the champion you get with the solace that one way or another it'll all be over soon. I feel like the format encourages play for play's sake better than league does. But for some reason I'm a guy who needs stakes.
Not really worked up. Just making a point. I don't have these people on my friend's list, and I just don't open the featured game tab ever. If you're an ARAM/ARURF player, good for you. I'm happy that you found something you like.
It's simply not for me and I hold the opinion that ARAM actively makes you worse at league of legends.
I love playing arams and statistically I'm not a bad league player therefore your point is invalid

heeeeeeeeeh ARAM teamfights are nothing like SR teamfights.
Different spells, different items, different comps, no objective... the list goes on.
I'm a hoot

I'd argue that exactly that is the reason ARAM has little or no influence on playing skill on SR.
i'm also gonna say i do not see why you are comparing ARAM to URF though.
I think SR is a more "complete" experience, so I can see where Panzer is coming from.
I think some people play ARAM to avoid the complexity of rift, which causes people to learn some bad habits due to good play in the good modes being different, which increases the extent to which SR is alien and strange.
This means that people get more and more likely to miss out on a fun game mode due to ARAM-entrenched behaviors.

In all seriousness tho, I really think the people who hate on URF are not the target audience. Simple as that. Feel free to play ranked, and do what you like to do, and we will do the same. Winning is not always the priority.
i think the issue here is that the URF audience isnt the Clash udience, who this is being done to apologize to

or you can enjoy both ...
i almost always play ranked SR but sometimes if i dont have a role i feel like playing or am tilted i'll play aram to screw around for a little bit
they arent mutually exclusive
Personally i enjoyed URF but hate this ARURF shit, adding randomness just made it a worse game mode in my opinion, because the idea is to dick around and have fun, at least with you being able to pick the champs you want you could do that, now you can just get a shit champ and be bored shitless.

In the process of creating a game to mod, we will see what it holds.
I think random definitely made it better. No fun getting the same cheese every single game. Every game in non-random was like. Lux, morg, nidalee, ezreal, jayce.
