that's a terrible mentality. we have exactly as much time as we have until we decide on a lynch. the dayphase lasts as long as we decide, the timer is only there to keep it from turning into absurdity

but why

all bastard means is that there are no limits on roles and the mod can change the rules

but players *right now* have been told they have certain roles. so until the mod *does something bastard* this is just a normal closed setup game

This is why I am not rushing to judgement with the little info that we have. I don't want to lock down in on my theories when we can potentially get a bastard surprise from mod.

Like I said, let's see how the next few pages go and then we will have more to work with.
I'm not disregarding your FOS on FAQ, personally I'm just not content with a vote on him (or anyone else) at this stage.

Unless the mod just hasn't had time yet. I'm thinkin since FA claimed Socrates and possibly has the Loved modifier, so that would put him after my vote at L-1. If this is the case, I believe him to be town, so I will unvote.

What does loved mean?

From the wiki:
Opposite of the Hated modifier, the Loved modifier makes it so that a player requires one more vote than normal to lynch. For example, if there are seven players alive, most players will require four votes to be lynched but a Loved player will require five.

I was asking what from the flavor claim would lead to the seemingly picked out of thin air idea that he'd be loved and subsequently the decision to simply hammer him like that.

I only thought he could have the loved modifier after I hammered him and the mod didn't end the day. Maybe I am wrong and mod will end the day anytime now, but until then I will hang on to the loved hypothesis.
Socrates preached all about love and the different kinds of love in Platos symposium. I don't remember much about it since its been over a decade since I had to study it, but that's why I think Socrates has a lover/loved type of role or role modifier.

BEF is actually easiest to read in the context of a claim.

When he is scum it's always "oh shit I'm confirmed town because of this shitty claim for reasons that don't really make sense but fuck doesn't my role sound townie?" when it never does and it's never clear why he would think it would

and then when he's town it's "listen everyone this one person is scum so I'm making sure we're locked into a 1v1"

like his role doesn't even make sense here, there's no reason to think it would influence his alignment, but that weird, nonsensical overconfidence--that is exactly what he does as scum

Unfortunately I can't link the perfect example of this because the best game I'm thinking about is still finishing up but trust me, I know how to read BEF, and he is scum here

Basically, if the role sounds like pure nonsense, and his treatment of the role sounds like pure nonsense, that = scum
