For me it's fact that I still believe that people can be good at mafia, but it's fading more and more with every game I play

I dream of a world where mafia could actually be WOAT proof but then, I no longer believe in Santa Claus or world peace. :/

You don’t believe it’s possible to not need a building to fall on someone to able to correctly read people?

Mastina is the only person on this site with a half decent BoP on me, despite what you and some others would like to think.
But I’m referring to the word, in the general sense, as in bad players - if that wasn’t clear.
Spoiler:
Here is my WOAT tribute to all the players who inspired this thread title.

But Santa is real and he lives in northern Finland
Can I mail him my wish list? I promise I’ve been good.

I started playing league of legends again recently
The teammates I got a month ago that complain about the rest of the team are hilarious... and also still at the same skill level. I am well above them now.
If you can't work around worse players or people that are playing worse than you, then you can't really say you've earned more than them. If you learn to work with it, you get better personally and it's easier to stomach having to in the first place.
Complaining about it is both useless and not productive. There are ways to work around it that are effective, you just need to find them.

Like how is the latter even possible?
And why would you even want to?

While I agree that focusing on your own mistakes is important, but mafia isn't LoL, you don't get better teammates, when you become better, you still have to play with same terrible teammates and it just becomes more infuriating as you would see more of their mistakes
in LOL when you get better you also get better opponents. if you're meaningfully better than everyone else in the game, you should have no difficulties carrying it regardless of what your team does really.
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.
RC, who is towns opponent in mafia? Scum or town itself? I'm at the point, where I believe that town competes with themselves to solve game, while scum is trying to disrupt them as best as they can and win, when town runs out of time so to say
you can't realistically change how good other people are
other players will make mistakes and quite honestly there's nothing you can do about that
the only constant in all of your games that you can control is you, and that's the only thing that really worth focusing on because it's the only thing you can control

it's neither
town's opponent is the general town environment and usually the harms to it come moreso from town than scum
you may need to lynch scum but town are generally the biggest barriers to doing that

most people aren't good enough as scum to be a large threat to town wincon as scum but a lot of people are bad enough as town to be a threat to the town wincondition as town

I think people think mafia sucks because they invest so much time and energy into it and then when that time and energy doesn’t turn into a positive result it turns into anger. I think people tend to enjoy mafia that is quicker and doesn’t require as much commitment.
