Wasn’t that true in 5 as well as 6? There are also multiple Pantheons and policies that separate them, in both 5 and 6.-

you know, there's something that I have a weird habit of doing and I wanted to know if any of you do the same thing. Build a wonder for the civ that built it IRL. Like get great library, pyramids for egypt, stonehenge for brit/celts, great wall terracotta for china.Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I played about two hours of this last night and I like it. Not the biggest fan of the cartoonish style but it feels like a civ game to me.Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. The faster the speed the better to build scouts. The slower, the better to go for Slinger / Half a builder / Settler / finish builder / SettlerDon't @ me.-

oh I forgot to help
I am sorry
I think your opening changes based on start position as well really. in any event depending on what tile improvements I can do right away I typically just go builder -> pause builder / start settler the turn that population hits 2 -> finish builder -> monument in both cities
sometimes I skip scouts and slingers entirely. sometimes you get a scout from a tribal village, sometimes you build a slinger to get the tech boost and sometimes you dont. I think in terms of what value am I getting from this in the immediate term and near future. and military doesnt give you ANYTHING unless you USE IT. so I procrastinate on military units until i spot a barb camp or another civ. this isnt necessarily correct but it is nonetheless what I tend to do.
porkens is there civ 6 specific details you need? like districts and such?-

Plains Hills is the only boost to your city centre. Unless there is an exceptional reason don't waste a turn. It isn't as important as say Civ5. Don't be afraid to though. In post 746, Porkens wrote:Yeah how do you plan ahead for districts?
Is it ok to move my first settler or is that an exponential waste of time?
For districts, you will get better with experience. There is the tabs system, so you can plan it out if you want by putting little markers out.
Obviously this all depends on victory type but important things to consider. National Parks are four tiles in a vertical diamond, if you want to make one, plan it ahead of time and mark it out with tabs. Harbours want to be next to a city centre. You want one campus next to a mountain for a breakthrough later on.
For an easy game just build campuses everywhere.Don't @ me.-

DISTRICTS:In post 746, Porkens wrote:Yeah how do you plan ahead for districts?

so first of all if you haven't memorised all of the district adjacency bonuses: absolutely memorise them asap. idk if I have a quick resource/link for that but you can view these details in the ingame civipedia or google it or something
secondly, probably the biggest thing for planning ahead is housing/population. the number of districts you can build in a city is locked to that cities current population; at 1 pop you can build 1 district, 4 pop = 2 districts, 7 pop = 3, so on in that fashion. So it's a balance between prioritizing certain districts in certain cities and also making sure each city has enough housing to grow and support more districts.
example: if I know I want to build a harbor in a particular coastal city, I'll plan on building that first or second, because I need the housing from that harbor *IN ORDER TO MAKE THE OTHER DISTRICTS*. if you get antsy for a campus holy site theater square first and then WHUPS, not enough housing for a 4th district: you'll be mad upset my dude.
you also have to keep in mind the fact that you simply can't build every district in a city. so you have to prioritize. coastal cities get harbors. inland cities on rivers get commercial hubs. cities by mountains are gonna be the bulk of your campuses and holy sites. this prioritizing ties into memorizing adjacency bonuses like I said earlier.
and with that all being said, my biggest protip to you is to use the map pins feature! it is absurdly helpful to me, I'll settle a city and then use pins to plan out that entire city, like I already know that a campus is going in this cluster of mountains and a commercial hub should be by a river and what can I put in between these districts for max bonuses and if I'm planning my districts to go here than this group of other tiles NEEDS to be tile improvements because my people need to work somewhere...etc.
obviously that's a bit over the top and even your best laid plans can go to waste but making a "rough draft" of what you wanna do is great. if there are wonders that you want to build don't forget that you can pin those as well, I'll mark a hypothetical spot for a wonder and then check if theres a spot adjacent to it for a good theater square. you can pin spots for potential new cities (4 tiles away) and then from there plan for their districts to go adjacent to another cities districts for even more bonuses. much to do!
SETTLER:
As long as you're not running like 5 turns away from your spawn its probably fine
settle in place? fine!
move one tile to a more desirable spot but still settling turn 0? fine!
bad spawn, take 1-2 turns to get a great city location? fine!
what's really important here is being able to identify the best possible spot for your capital. if you can get a river or a lake, do it. if you can get coastal, do it. really good natural wonder nearby? tempting!
But what I wouldn't go for is a spot a whole 3 turns away, at that point what you're really gonna want to do is settle your SECOND city in that location.
okay I've vomited many words lemme know your thoughts and additional inquiries. I probably repeated myself a bunch but hopefully I've made sense-

this is also worth noting. if I'm not mistaken, city centers always make themselves 2 food 1 hammer. plains hills are 1 food 2 hammer, so a city center on a plains hill tile will boost to 2 food and simply keep the additional hammer. any other tile, it just becomes 2-1; luxury resources not withstanding. In post 747, Espeonage wrote: Plains Hills is the only boost to your city centre.
