A blood-curdling scream emanates from somewhere off in the distance, stopping you dead in your tracks. Without a thought, you run straight towards the noise. You force your way through thornbushes and forest brush until you arrive at a clearing in the trees. There, you lay your eyes upon a sight that chills you to your core. It's Isis. You lock eyes with her from across the field. "Help! Help me— please!" She is barely able to get the words out as she desperately clings to the side of an ever-growing chasm that splits the clearing in two. Huge flames lick at the sides of the great abyss, threatening to come bursting out. It's as if Hell itself has opened up for Isis. Does this mean..? "Listen— listen to me! I'm innocent!" Isis struggles to call out to you whilst keeping her grip. A million thoughts race through your head, until you're interrupted by a familiar voice. "Isis, you tried to trick me. Trick all of us. I can't believe it.. but it's over, now." Hayasaka! "If you can hear me, Isis.. I forgive you." The earth beneath you starts to rumble and shake. An intense quake throws you off your feet, causing you to land face-first into the ground. You hear Isis scream once more, but when you look up, she's disappeared from the side of the chasm. As the rift slowly starts to close in on itself, the reality of it all starts closing in on you. Isis.. she couldn't have been... No. You've no reason to distrust Hayasaka. She was a dirty sinner! “Judgment has been passed down. You may continue your game.” In an instant, the wildfire recedes. The adrenaline wears off, and you collapse in a heap. You continue to lie there in the field of Isis' grave, waiting for whatever comes next.

You sit sprawled out over a cold, concrete floor at the edge of a cellar. You stare idly at an array of wooden wine barrels stacked up in front of you.

“Hell-ooohh? Anyone home?”

The same girl as always moves in the way of your vision, snapping her fingers. You ignore her and instead shift your gaze to the cellar window. Daylight shines through, lighting up this side of the room.

Isis was never out to be your friend. She wasn't a good person. All that mattered was manipulating your feelings in order to benefit herself. And it worked. You struggle to find the strength to believe it. The more you think upon it, the more you realize it's easier to just omit her from memory entirely.

“Well, whatever. You all know the drill. I'll be back soon.”

The demon turns and opens a wooden door on the back basement wall. You cannot make out what's inside as she quickly exits with a slam of the door.

You're so tired. But you've got to carry on. You owe it to word321 and WaltertheDunce. Though your legs ache, you painstakingly push yourself up to your feet.

I don't, so as long as you're not some kind of old deep god, we're good. The way Isis reacted to your catchup felt like she was putting suspicion there because she was forced to and needed other people to mishell, so I have high hopes.
