Who asked? Why use it if you’re going to immediately announce it exists?

my instinct with neighbour chats is usually to keep them secret until outing them has a specific purpose. what's your reason for doing so here?
I tend to dislike concealing mechanical information without a concrete reason to do so, and will otherwise default to laying all my cards on the table. Having access to a neighbor chat is a super innocuous thing that I don't really see the benefit in concealing.

Furthermore, accountability; if Tris says something compromising in the chat I can now just pop in and say "hey Tris is being weird in chat" instead of having to waste time claiming later. [that said, Tris seems like an obvious villager aorn, but whatever]

Finally:
Spoiler:
i have no idea how to use a neighbor chat this is literally my first time
But now you’ve put tris on her guard

Seems like a mildly scum-leaning move as they don’t have as much reason to try and draw out scum via the hood

Interesting, I kinda got off vibes from tris from their acknowledgement of me. Albeit true, it feels like they were setting up a
Gamefic
, a fact and comment that is used to support a gamestate world where certain things get pushed into a narrative fact.

While I do have a strong presence in games, I found it odd for Tris to bring that up during my first string of posting, especially because I've been offsite for months. I don't know, it felt subtly manipulative in a harmless way, which is what scum actually do rather than what people think scum do, if that makes sense.

I wasn't going to say anything about it because it's so early in the game, but seeing an exact opposite read, even if it was for a different reason was weird and I want it on record that I found it weird.
How much has the boon dictionary evolved/mutated while I was away?

These things are easily verifiable. Though my concern for outing a neighborhood right away is that you either made yourselves a target for a NightKill or you'd create a lot of WIFOM as to why neither of you have been targetted for a Nightkill
^ I'm going to pocket you.

Oh, what, I meant to say that in the neighborhood.

But yeah, I hard agree with this. I dominate in neighborhoods as scum, and it's just really easy because it's such an intimate relationship with a couple other people, if you can just get on the same page, you can carry a game that way.
Can vouch for this having done it myself once, as well as having been on the receiving end

I don't see how the neighborhood being public changes anything there. why would mafia be more on guard in the neighborhood due to the neighborhood being known about. it's not like people can go look in the neighborhood even now. and a townsperson is able to reveal what was said in there regardless of whether or not they had previously talked about it.

A fresh FL, welcome back! I have been way less active too and this is the first game played on BEF in about 5-6 months.
Yeah, I'm happy to see a mixture of fresh and old faces here. After I went through Animals U-pick, which honestly was probably one of my favorite scum games ever, I knew I had to take a break. I don't think anyone's rolled scum as much as me over the last 3 years, and it got draining.

I had modded games for nearly 2 years straight, and a lot of times multiple larges at once

Like, I got 3 scummies for 2019, so I became okay not having to be obsessive over Mafia. My film/writing career's is starting to move forward more too, but y'all know how important the game of Mafia is to me. You knew I'd be back.

I don't want to get overzealous, but I also finally have a nice computer now, so modding large themes on a computer instead of my phone, come on now. My next games hopefully will run nicely. I plan to spice the BooneyToonz games up in a cool way soon.
Teach me how to mod via phone plsss

@tris
, re: the hood, yes town can out the information regardless of whether it’s previously outed but instantly saying “hey I’m watching you bub” will probably make them interact in a more guarded way. It could be used as a psych out tbh, but given Ampharos seems to be a newb I don’t expect they were thinking on that level. Plus there’s also the fact Ampharos just seems super self-conscious about the whole situation. It’s not a suspicion that really holds a lot of weight but I think I can VOTE: Ampharos and feel okay with calling that a serious vote.
As for Kaname Date yeah it’s not much but I just think scum would be less likely to express the kind of thought shown in that post.
