Welcome to the Rata Mall Carpark. Its small, and interesting.

The carpark is sealed off to the south. The exit door has come down. It was open before. A new addition from when you all arrived is a dead body on the ground.

There are three cars and a truck in here



Present are:

PookyTheMagicalBear

is Casey Ballentyne: Male,Early 30s Tall, Muscular, Scar across his face, slightly balding, tidy Beard, Dressed in Denim. A Bow across his shoulder, with two arrows. Carrying a very hefty 2ft cast iron crowbar.

Talitha

is Yvonne Skeggs: Female, Teenager Lanky, medium height, tattooed arms.

Ariel

is Carla Temperton: Female, Late Teens Medium Height, Slight European accent

THe red corvette is unlocked.

The truck opens up to reveal a trove of useful stuff. PM Incoming.

Two of you will be enough to move the car. You can do it now, or wait for Ariel.

The red car moves gently out of the way, resting against the blue car.

It exposes that it was parked over a manhole cover. Closed.

You will need a tool. The manhole cover has holes for tools to lift it, but fingers wont be enough.

The knife bends under the weight of the metal. YOu will need something more substantial.

Please bold your commands, so I dont miss them. You can leave the bit about not trusting me in unbold though

Pooky opens the manhole to reveal a ladder going down, and a tunnel is obvious.

Yup, the knife is all but useless now.

The green ford has a dead body in it. No clear indication how they died. Male. Locked.

I take it all three of you are about to go through the tunnel with the torch

If I so, I will process that action in just over 12 hours.

The ticket machine is functional, but you'd need to pay it by credit card or similar to get it to open the exit. It doesn't accept cash.

The geiger counter beeps when passed over John Thompsons body. It's clear he, or his clothes, were radioactive.

It doesnt beep over anything else.

The remaining cars are all locked, bodies inaccessible.

The tunnel gives off no signal of radioactivity. Its safe.

The three of you climb into the tunnel.

Yvonne, Casey and Carla - lead by a single torch - head north under the mall. It's dark in here, and quite echoey. The tunnel appears to stretch a long way under the mall. There are pipes running along the ceiling, and you can reach out and touch them. The tunnel is only just high enough to comfortably walk under.

As you walk along, you surmise that you are directly under the bank. And you can hear the voice of Johannes (Groza), Harry (Primate) and Jia (Captain Meme). You hear Harry telling someone that Leo offered him toilet paper. Then you hear an almighty smash. It sounds like they broke the security glass on the counter or something. You hear Harry saying "Thank you very much, Jia. I am in your debt"

But its all very muffled.

The tunnel continues. You can stay here, or move further into the tunnel.

Caseys geiger counter says its safe to do so.

Nothing to pick up

You end up underneath the bookstore.

You hear Sir Leo in there. He is bragging about having found some glasses behind the shelves, and you hear a muffled thank you from Cindy who appears to be in there with him.

There's more to the tunnel, but nothing to be seen here.

No, I corrected that name, but for some reason the edit didnt save... Its Nexus you are hearing

You arrive under the bathrooms. There is a large cast iron box on the ceiling, with pipes running past it. There is water dripping here, and the floor shows signs of having been flooded. Very wet.

From here the tunnel takes a sharp right turn (to the East) but Casey-Pooky's geiger counter starts beeping quite a bit faster.

Yeah its within reach. I better keep my story straight

There are no openings on this, the underside.

There is a loud clang, but nothing. This box is welded or even moulded into the ceiling. You wont be opening from down here without something extreme

Do you have any idea what that will do to your hearing. That box is cast iron, and you are in a tunnel!

I mean I really dont know how on earth to handle the next eatery session with 3 deaf people

You hear glass breaking. Its echoing. Sounds like someone broke something in the bookstore

[ambic]

You are all currently in the tunnel, you have to walk back to the carpark if you wish to start exploring cars.

[ambic]

You all walk back slowly to the carpark as a group.

As you pass under the bank, you hear the words "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY BANK" being shouted by an unknown voice. And you could have sworn you heard Johannes reply in a foreign language. Followed by silence.

There are a few more sounds. Hard to distinguish what is going on.

And then you hear Jia's voice clearly asking people to show her their right arm. And she mentions an Augmentation League and Mind Control Chips. She says something about slaves and looking through their bags to see who they are. She asks for help in hunting drones down. And for help to find a less effective weapon

Just before you leave, you hear Johannes saying 'preposterous'

You arrive back in the carpark.

The door is ripped open. The purple car contains a body. Its been dead a while, its pretty mummified. The car smells bad.

[ambic]

There is nothing useful in the car.

[ambic]

The truck has keys in it

The ticket machine is for inserting your ticket, paying, and then being able to scan and exit. The machine that issues is on the otherside of the barrier. But neither have power anyway

The truck is idling away after Casey turns it on.

The green ford is uninteresting. Again a dried old body in it. Nothing else

Casey gets out his geiger counter, and scans the entire carpark. The body is radioactive, there is a slight, but almost imperceptible rise at the eatery doors. Nothing to worry about. The truck is neutral.

He then tries his wallet (the one he picked up off the body). That's severely radioactive.

He scans his cash, and discovers that the coin he picked up off the body is also radioactive, but it's hard to tell which one as it's now mixed in with the other cash from the ticket machine. Its possibly radiated the other cash he's carrying.

Who knows You use the geiger counter to work out which coin is radioactive, and you throw that away too

The wallet is gone, and you are down a quarter.

The rest of your cash is safe.

John Thompson is indeed an NPC. A dead NPC.

Casey fires up the truck

He starts to inch it forward, but it travels faster forward than he expects. He hits the brakes, but they don't work. Multiple attempts don't work. It looks like this truck has been interfered with at some stage in the past

The truck accelerates faster than Casey would like, crashes throught the eatery doors shattering them - deflects off a bollard and heads straight at the bank. It rear ends the Tesla, that wasn't supposed to be there, and hits the southern-most ATM, sending it, and it's cash flying - and leaves a wrecked truck in the eatery.

Did Casey just commit an accidental bank raid? The security door wouldnt have survived that had it been closed.

Casey gets out, a little dazed and suprised, and rushes back out the car-park.

(You just triggered another way of opening the bank, irrelevant now since it's already open, but the people in the bank are about to get a bit of fun)

Yeah you wont be grabbing any, but the people in the bank might thank you later. This annoying cut scene has been bought to you by 'very, very amb'

The red car is back over the manhole. All good. No dramas, but the mall certainly looks like you guys happened to it

All the cars contain bodies and nothing useful. They are meant to be a distraction so not everyone finds the tunnel
