Thanks for helping me realize that just because a player does a thing doesn’t necessarily mean what he was gunna do is alignment indicative even if disinterest is scum indicative for him.

There was literally no point to do the exercise and it felt quite unnatural/artificial to me. Also, notice how almost everyone else decided to ignore it too :D

Um, I wanted the game to slow down and if anyone’s reads suddenly changed and then ask them about what happened and why they changed and all that good stuff.

Does midwaybear think it’s untrue that he shows less interest in the game and the goings on in it as scum?

Notsci rvs-voted me.

I joked back at him a la Mini 1699 viewtopic.php?f=53&t=62686

He changed his vote, with no actual acknowledgement of my bussing comment.

And then he put out a readslist where he says absolutely nothing about me.

That game's a decent roadmap of what our town-town interactions have evolved into. None of that showed up here. No response to my rvs reaction, no asking for reactions to his reads. none of the banter we usually put into sizing each other up, despite my immediate reach-out.

I'm putting a lot of effort into replying to you right now because I would hate to get a bad read of you much more than I'd hate it if this is town you getting a bad read on me.
I am halfway through a glass of wine but I am here now

I think its a little unfair to be expecting that level of interaction when we havent played in so long. As I said before (and even in the queue) I was excited to play with everyone!

Mala actually called me out before I started doing my tunneling in 2148 and I broke it and sat back and actually got a townread on her while sitting back and not engaging super hard. I suppose you can ask bulge if our engagements in game have felt different since before too?

(unrelated- I also looked in that game for unrelated reasons and my favorite us interaction was at the start of D2/3 where we were agreeing that if nacho and pie were scum they would be strongarming their way through the game. And they proceeded to do that.)

There's no point to... sharing your reads in a clear and concise format?

That's a new one.
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!

The question itself was not directed at you though. Or meant for you as a part of a lager plan. It pinged me, while I was #730. I hoped to consolidate content into a more digestiable form and get better reads on people.

In post 720, zMuffinMan wrote:if you are so aware of previous encounters with scum-me, that makes me more interested in knowing why you thought i'd call you scum this game if i were scum

because, like, it'd be pretty easy for me to just agree with general consensus about you and ignore you if i'm scum rofl

or serenade you with compliments so you ignore me

on the other hand, i don't understand what gave you the impression that i'd think you're town if i'm town? because that's clearly not meta-based, even ignoring the fact that we're both coming back from like a 2-year hiatus
The scumclaim post was about 30% joke and 70% wanting to see how you would react. This post I'm responding to is more in the line of what I expected from you.

My expectations are not so much meta-based as they are how I've interpreted your scumreads in the past. And how you've expressed them. This is way more of push than you've ever sent my way (even that one time when I actually was scum). When you've scumread me, it was desultory and you had bigger fish to fry in the moment. And we eventually got pretty right with each other. I'd like to trust that will happen again, but the ridicule and shutting me down is new. I've seen it directed at others and I've understood why you thought they were being stupid, or scum, or stupid scum. So my conclusion should be?

I want to get current on the stuff that surprised me to read the last few pages. I've gone back 20 pages to try and figure out wtf happened to this game and it's going to be a while before I'm completely back in the present.

Your "lol scumreading notsci" shit is not helping me sort him. I haven't written him off and I hope there's something in the next few pages that will make sense of how he's approached me so far. I've given you both a roadmap of why such an early post clanged for me. He needs to explain where his head was at.

I guess my main point is I feel different playing it. Like I'm still me, but I've grown a lot over the past few years and feel like it bleeds in to what I do but the core traits are still there. If that makes sense?

This musing feels very appropriate for this game.

Bell's post came from scum, so I'm not going to indulge it. If you want my reads right now, I still have Bulge as town with Prism. Scum is bell and plus atm.
