What on earth for? You replaced into a situation where you were the only scum left and were scum by both POE and night actions. Not a whole lot anyone does in that situation. Even if you HAD been able to turn it around, you'd have died when we policy'd the lovers before lylo anyways. No need for apologies.

Got cut off there...

No need to apologise. You were in a tough spot. Would have taken some monumental plays to change your fate.

hi i'm here for the caster PT shenanigans

well played by town - this was guaranteed to be fairly swingy depending on who got ahead early, but town definitely won that battle in every way

I definitely hear the scum team that the master selection needs to be more enticing to scum in future. It seemed like a Pyrrhic victory even in the case where they did get nommed -- losing a member in a setup like this is something I'd think long and hard about, and even if you give it to a less obvtown town-leader type it still leaves you with one fewer elimable player.

That said I think the way petapan handled it was masterfully done.

I will comment on my shielder wagon participation. Part of the reason I strongly pushed there was because I felt both their bussing ability and talking at night ability were conflicting with my role and I thought couldn't be in the same game as me. I was clearly wrong.

For my part, I didn't really care if Shielder was town or scum. I wouldn't have been surprised by a red or green flip. I was simply certain that them continuing to live would be nothing but a distraction for town going forward. I stand by that, too.

This is why I argued so hard against using the master vote as a cop. Losing a member is a huge deal for scum and going that route would have to have some insane value for scum roles to be worth the loss of a member, and a charismatic one. In hindsight it should've been more obvious that scum just let the master vote go, but 20/20 etc.

right now scum wasn't really involved in the masterization phase because i think the utility of getting scum elected is mixed.

white flag would've made it obvious that "this is a bad result for scum"

rest of the setup could be balanced around knowing 3 scum are alive on D1, always.

this would not have been precisely the same setup w/ white flag involved and balance would be adjusted in other ways

nonetheless we dismissed this as master mechanic had been advertised already as what it is

That's fair. I'd love to see the review PT, I bet balancing this was a right bitch.

This setup was insane and I love it

kinda. it's more a way here to allow scum to sacrifice one of their own in the case that a scum master is selected and not to feel like they're getting a mixed bag, because in this setup the obvious drawback of scum putting all this effort into infiltrating the master phase is that they would have to play 1 man down. White flag in the case town master gets selected i think emphasizes that a town master is purely good for town and a scum master is purely good for scum, and the rest of the setup can be balanced around that.

Another thing that could maybe use changing is vote to nominate someone who appoints master vs voting the master directly. Might be easier for scum to slip in as a master this way.

In the white flag case does scum still lose a member if they win the election?

As for the Kingmaker idea, I'm not sure that'd make it much easier for scum. If scum gets Kingmaker, and then kingmakes a buddy, wouldn't that remove the buddy from the game and be essentially a scumclaim from the kingmaker? I guess maybe if you kingmake someone who has scum in top tier townreads, but that requires some hella coordination and charisma to pull off.

scum would try to worm their way into the heart of the nominated town imo
potential for lots of wifom games if they become kingmaker too

It'll need a rework, but we'll probably run something vaguely similar again in 6ish months.

I'll be resetting the servant accounts and setting up their servant portraits as the avatar, when I do the PT release tomorrow.
