For your #4, if you want to give information to town, without having the problem of "players signed up but didn't get a chance to play" consider cop headstart: during night1, all non-killing roles are active, but killing roles are disabled. Balance accordingly of course.
To be honest, i'm quite puzzled that so few setups use it given it's close to "best of both worlds"
Edit: Oh didn't see that was a necro. The point still stands though.I'm town. Please lynch someone else.-

It depends on the Game setup.. if you're talking about Normals and Opens.. Yes. Day 1 No lynches are indeed bad.. becuase the day 1 lynches are info lynches for normal and open setups...so ideally... No lynches on Day 1 is bad and town will be same state as they were before with one night kill and may not have too much of night results.
But for a micro games or other theme games with loaded powerroles, no lynches may benefit with night information on next day.Inatimeofancientgods,warlordsandkings,alandinturmoilcriedoutforahero.ShewasXena,amightyprincessforgedintheheatofbattle.Thepower,thepassion,thedanger.Hercouragewillchangetheworld-Xena Warrior Princess, Coming Soon!!-

No lynch is bad, and if you don’t think it’s bad you should feel bad.Norwe is spontaneous, has a stream-of-consciouness posting style, usually posts on catch-ups by commenting on past pages posts, gets rather fired up in certain moments in games, is relatively as playful as me in games and likes casual shitposting

Wow, 7 years old. Is that some kind of record? ANSWER: It depends, usually not the most optimal strategy. In post 30, NorwegianboyEE wrote:Oh shit. I think I might've done worse wrt necrobumping towards when I first started playing
as for my own experience here vs. on other sites (by which I mean my homesite) here setups are typically odd numbers of players, or at least at a quantity that emphasizes voting someone out D1 to maintain stability of town's winrates rather than giving scum the n1 kill and putting it on evens, which significantly worsens town's chances. On my homesite, though, there are a number of factors that tend to result in a no exe day 1. People tend to try to not push others towards execution unless there's a substantial amount of evidence against them, which is really gonna happen on D1. In addition the playerbase kinda trends towards a geriatric style where players will post a little bit each day but not really devote a ton of time to the game. A side note to that is there aren't a lot of games that are run there, so taking someone out early is a big deal. The final nail in the coffin is the fact the site meta prefers nightplay over dayplay a good amount of the time, due to every setup except I think one having all power roles. Here we have a good amount of non-PR intensive or vanilla/vanilla-esque setups, which put a focus on dayplay instead, and we tend to vote more freely in order to generate a good amount of things to sort D1. We also have a lot of games so if you get killed early you can just join another one.
So honestly I think it's not actually a de facto bad move as OP tries to suggest. Instead it's a situation affected by cultural influence.<Embrace The Void>
