Yes indeed. Waiting for replacement. At this moment I am most suspicious of Fenchurch based on my previous posts but that could be subject to change depending on future events.Armlx: What has he done to make you think he's scum.
Mizzy: Other than not scumhunt, not post much as of late other than jokes and lurk a bit?
Oman: This is known as "doing a thinktank".-

Prodded. I don't have much to add either - and do you know why? Because all of the last few posts have just been "nobody is talking; there is nothing new to comment on". You guys, youcannotjust wait for other people to do stuff and then comment on it, because if everyone takes this approach, we are all just gonna be sitting around waiting forever. It is impossible to tell who is mafia from posts like "I don't have much to add at the moment". There should be an expectation on players to post their opinions, thoughts, speculations, questions, concerns, and it should be the case that NOT doing this makes you stand out. Because if everyone is talking about who they think is mafia, the mafia themselves are going to be forced to post lies, and it will give us a chance to pick up on their contrived posts.
Anyway, I've had a busy weekend, but I will try to put together a more contentful post myself later today. However, I am not happy about the fact that it feels like maybe half of us are putting any effort in. And thinktank, Iknowthat we are still waiting for a replacement, but we have been waiting for almost a month now, and if we use waiting as a reason not to post anything then we're likely to be deadlined into oblivion.

Right, this post is going to contain quite a lot of questions.
ShadowLurker and thinktank, both of you have at some time pointed an FoS at Artem. Personally, I like Artem, I find his posts to be reasoned and sensible. However, I also find him quite reserved, and I don't really have a read on him. Could either of you explain what exactly you found scummy in him?
thinktank, I don't know whether I should drag it out, but you never did respond to my question in post 206. You say "I said verbose posts under pressure are often times a bad thing because it comes of as defensive." By "bad thing", do you mean scummy? Or "coming off as defensive", is that scummy? And if the answer to both of these questions is no, then I don't see how the statement is relevant to the game of Mafia.
Which of these reflects your opinion more:Artem wrote:Verbose defensive posts under pressure are not necessarily a bad thing, as they provide more content and more chance for scum (if the person defending themselves is indeed scum) to slip.
And if neither, then how does yours differ?lifeofpie wrote:I think think (I hate that name ) is trying to say that long, defensive (there, I said it) posts have a habit of being scummyer than the shorter ones. Which I think I will agree with, just based on my knowledge of the human psyche (which is small).
Artem and chapter 5... I don't have any questions for you right now. Sorry.
RandomGem and lifeofpie, both of you have said recently that you don't have any comments. Assuming no one disagrees, would you be able to post a rundown of the current players, and a sentence or two describing your gut feelings on them? I hope this shouldn't take too long, as it wouldn't require in-depth analysis.
Drifter, I agree with Artem's question, what were your plans with:
Have you gained anything from it?Drifter post 192 wrote:What up guys? (please reply to this if you ARE mafia)
And in order that my vote reflect my current suspicions:
Unvote, Vote: lifeofpie
To my mind, the reactions to the buddying up suggestion were out of proportion, and seemed like he was desperate to cover up his previous "scummy" actions, rather than explain them, which to me is suspicious.
ShadowLurker, you used the word distancing to describe this, did you mean distancing from players or from his own previous actions?-

I haven't pointed a single FoS this game but I just haven't liked Artem's posts. Looking at his posts again, almost everything he's posted since the time I posted I found him suspicious has been directed at me except for his vote change to Drifter, which hasn't done much to alleviate my suspicions.Fenchurch wrote: ShadowLurker and thinktank, both of you have at some time pointed an FoS at Artem. thinktank has been behind the scenes a lot for an IC, but don't find that suspicious.
chapter 5 is quiet, but I don't see his/her actions coming from scum at all.
Sion/Mallick haven't posted so obviously nothing to say.
Fenchurch seems a bit misguided and trying too hard. Not necessarily a scumtell though.
Drifter I've covered in length, and possibly needs a replacement.
lifeofpie has contributed virtually nothing and I would be fine voting him.
RandomGem is still the same as before.
Fenchurch, my comment about it being distancing was a joke as I felt you were blowing things way out of proportion.
Rereading everyone's posts I'm kind of sad how contentless this town has been:sadtorch Ken Hoang, A.D/Fuzzie, Cameron Ferris, Taj Johnson-George, Annie Duke, Patti Blagojevich, Maria/Tiffany :sadtorch
:torch Tammy/Victor, Dan/Jordan-

The reason there is so little content is because we're all either waiting on Drifter to answer the questions directed at him or waiting for Mallick to get replaced by something who will finally start posting.
By the way, I've played a game where Dave (mafia) was picking up prods and not posting and then learned to stop picking up prods and was eventually replaced. (http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7891)pepoel who spel bad and don't know grammer is jerks-

i read through the thread just now which actually wasnt too painful.
everything has been pretty concise so far without too many mile long posts which is both good for catching up and bad for getting reads.
pretty much my sentiment echos everyone so far.
i do believe drifter is a new player, but i believe that he is playing up his newness to the extreme at an attempt to drive suspicion away. he repeatedly asks questions that either have been previously answered in this game or are readily available in the wiki.
i find the whole claiming the vanilla townie thing pretty suspicious as well. especially when it was pointed out that he shouldnt have done that he tries to make it seem like he hasnt revealed anything. i think if he was really pro-town he would have stated that, not his specific role(which i believe to be a lie).
his last post was on sun afternoon. i think he tried a few last ditch efforts to skirt his lynch and when he was seemingly unsucessful he pretty much went into give up mode.
with all that being said, vote: drifter
i think this is the safest play at this point and with the information tomorrow i think we will be able to make an even more informed vote on the second day.-

Okay, unvote Mallick/thegeckoj. It was a useless vote that didn't work at all, but at least he got replaced.
To answer Fenchurch's question:
lifeofpie - Hmm. There was the joke bandwagon on Drifter, and then the buddying up... Meh. To me, it's not really that scummy.
chapter 5 - Went after Fenchurch, then later backed down. I don't remember much else. Yay for following your intuition, but hmm... possible distancing?
Drifter - At the risk of looking scummy, I'd be willing to hammer him. But I think it'd be better to wait for a replacement or at least discuss some more.
Fenchurch - Leading the town with her extra long posts... Seems townie, but there's the fact that if she's scum, thinking like that would kill us, so I keep a bit of suspicion.
Artem - Mean to me. I suppose I could have OMGUS suspicion for him, but nope... Null read.
thegeckoj - I'm suspicious of his predecessors for disappearing... Hmm.
IC's: This game has IC's? Well, I was kinda suspicious on one of them for defending me when I thought I shouldn't have been, which was kinda weird. I think it was thinktank, but since both of their avatars changed, I forgot. >.> Currently no real reads on either though.
All my suspicions are really neutral, but after a lynch and a night kill (or maybe not, who knows), the suspicions will be come more tangible.
Just to reiterate, I'm willing to hammer Drifter, but I'd like to wait first. This is a sig. It has nothing funny or witty in it.-

@Randomgem: No personal offense is intended. There are players in this game that are simply along for the ride and up until the last post you were one of them. Coming along for the ride is great for scum because they already know the alignment of all players and have no need to do the scumhunting. I like your last post because it points out the things you find suspicious and your thoughts on the other players.
@Thinktank: Who are you top suspects? Why?
@Chapter 5: Same question.pepoel who spel bad and don't know grammer is jerks
