Hello all,

The team list is updated and all slots are filled. This is going to be a long-ish post. Please read the whole thing. It is divided into sections for easy reference and reading. Before you ask me a question, make sure that the answer is not contained within this post.

Blacklist Process

What you will do is put lists together for your team and post the final list in the PT.

PRIVATE TOPICS AND DISCORD CHANNELS WILL NOT BE RELEASED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THIS EVENT.

Do not try to game the system by putting a large number of players in the blacklist. Be aware that due to the large number of moving pieces to this machine, it is quite possible that it will not be possible to honor every blacklist. implosion has designed an algorithm to combine game preferences with blacklists to get the mathematically best result to honor blacklists and game preferences. The purpose of this blacklist is to prevent personal drama from derailing games and to help us all create a positive game experience. Please take this process seriously. Once you are placed into games you will not be able to switch out.

You are not guaranteed to have every pick on your blacklist honored.

In the event that you are placed in a game with someone on your blacklist by the algorithm, we will contact you before the player lists are posted and discuss options.

You will post these lists in your PT.

Player B - Jim, Frances, Pedro
Player C - None
Player D - Frances, Jordan, Smitty

Q: I am uncomfortable sharing my blacklist with my team. What do I do?
A: If you are uncomfortable sharing your blacklist with your team, you can send me a PM with your blacklist. No one other than the TM2021 mod team will see these blacklists.

Q: I was put in a game with someone on my blacklist. Why are you persecuting me?
A: We will do our absolute best to honor game preference and blacklists, with blacklists taking precedence when the two conflict. However, it is impossible for us to promise that all blacklists will be honored. If someone is in a game with a person on their blacklist, it is because it was the only way to honor the largest number of blacklists. Be aware, as you are making your blacklists, that the more people you put on your blacklist, the more likely it is that not all blacklists can be honored. Be judicious and try to be a good community member. This is a large-scale community event that everyone is doing for fun.

Q: I posted a couple of players I don't want to play with across several posts in our Discord channel without tagging you. Why didn't you honor my blacklist?
A: If it isn't in the list your team posted in your PT or in a PM to me, it isn't part of your blacklist.

Q: My team never posted our blacklists in our PT despite several reminders for reasons that are somehow both dumb and mysterious. What happens?
A: When configuring player lists, we will consider your team as not having anyone blacklisted.

Q: But we posted them in our Discord! Why are you persecuting me?
A: Blacklists not posted in your PT or sent to me individually via PM in the format shown above in this post will not count.

Game Selection

As of the time of this post, setups and themes are not available. We are running ahead of schedule, so this is not an issue. Your teams will have ample time after the setups/themes are available to decide on game preference.

You will post these lists in your PT.

Each team is required to have a player in the Large Theme and Large Normal, however you will provide a 1-5 ranking of all five games with a player assigned to four of the games. If your team does not receive one of your picks for the remaining three games, the player who is not given their chosen game will be assigned to the unassigned game on your list. In cases where more teams request a game than there are slots, preferences will be given to the teams that listed the game higher.

List the LT and LN as 4th and 5th

. Additionally, list for each player any setups that they absolutely do not want to play in. Due to the combination of blacklists and available slots in games, we cannot guarantee to honor vetoes, but it will make it less likely that we will place a player in a game in which they do not want to play.

5: Large Theme - Player D

Player A - VETO Small Setup
Player B - VETO Large Normal
Player C - no veto
Player D - no veto

A: If your vetoes are not part of you team's game preference list and aren't posted in the PT along with that list, they will not be considered.

A: Your team will be placed in games in such a way as to best configure blacklists.
