Probably, yeah. It's not really doing much, is it?Awesome Pants wrote:iamausername, should I remove my vote on you?
I mean, if you have reason to believe I'm more likely scum than anyone else (or some other justification for keeping a vote on me at this point) then I'd like to hear it, but otherwise, I'm sure there are better things you could be doing with it.Elapsam semel occasionem non ipse potest Iuppiter reprehendere-

head up to the mod. I posted this on friday to let everyone know I wouldnt be around.Grimmy wrote:

I only had time to catch up on one game that day, so I chose one I had neglected longer than this one. I will probably not get to go indepth with this game until at least monday, and that is still not a guaranteee, as todays events in RL will make my monday twice as hard, and I wont be around for the weekend.

I know I've been posting elsewhere but I need to be...less sick so I can get in the groove of this game. I'm already there in all my other games, it's just trying to keep myself sane before I jump headfirst into this one. I'm beginning to feel better so hopefully tomorrow or Friday I'll do a quick reread+conclusions.Confirming my replace in. I'll read the thread with the intent of actual analysis when my head isn't about to explode. Likely tomorrow."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Timeater wrote:Sigh, my first reaction to Tar's post was to call him an idiot but then I thought to myself I should be nice and I dont really mean to call him an idiot, and he's probably not, etc. Anyway, now that I've heard his post (yet to hear from delibird he may have to be replaced? Which is odd because he's modding another game I'm in...) it was pretty underwhelming. Not only does he leave out this PBPA thats would indicate my scummyness, he goes on to say my "defensive" arguements are weak and doesnt give any examples. Nice.
Something is missing from the second quote... oh yeah,Timeater wrote:Regarding Tar's PBPA - really all his points were extremely weak and taken out of context. When he wasn't agreeing with me, it was so forced and contrived I haven't bothered responding yet. Either he seriously is just trying to hard to build a case that isnt there or he's scum trying to hard. Either way I will leave it up to my fellow players to see the transparency of his attacks.examples.
So, when I post a summary of what I find problematic with your posts, leaving out examples, and promise to PBPA when I get time, you call me scum for not posting all the arguments. Then, when I finally get time to make the PBPA, you respond by... posting a summary of what I find problematic with your posts, leaving out examples, and promising to PBPA if other players ask. Isn't that EXACTLY what you called me scummy for earlier? This isn't blatantly hypocritical how, exactly?
Oh yes, and I expect, if not a full rebuttal, then at least an answer to the questions that I and other players have asked you.User out of ambit.

I just looked over your other games yesterday. (I do not like to use Newbie games as a judge of scum meta, since I've found that the IC/inexperienced dynamic in Newbie games tends to throw off my scumdar, so the best example I saw of your play as scum is ongoing.)iamausername wrote:
I'm intrigued by how certain you are about this so early in the game. If you have read up on my scum play by now, has that affected your read any? (If you haven't, this game is a pretty short one and probably shows fairly typical scum-user.)Tarhalindur wrote:I'm pretty damn sure that iamausername is town (in fact, that read is why I asked about him earlier) - his play here reads like his play in both both Mind Screw games (where he was town). I willl check a game where iamausername was scum ASAP to double-check myself, though.
Even after the reread, you seem to be playing somewhat closer to your town meta (you seem to be more aggressive as scum than you are in this game (though I'm not quite as sure about that as I was before reread be due to the lack of finished non-Newbie games where you have been scum). In particular, you're not focusing on a single player to the extent that you seem to as scum. There's also a gut component to my read on you - your play here just seems to fit the pattern that I saw in the Mind Screw games (the first one in particular).User out of ambit.

I have a question tied to this, andit calls Tar's post into it.Awesome Pants wrote:
Can you elaborate on why you think that is so though?KingEnigma wrote:anyone defending anyone is kind of suspect.
let me try to put this in order
KE said that an OMGUS vote is NOT very different from a Random vote, which we already established is something KE is not interested in doing.
TAR flipped it around and said that KE thinks that an OMGUS vote is legit.
So my question is this,
I find what Tar did to be a suspicious. By pointing this out, am I defending KE, or am I Scumhunting Tar?Showv/la on weekend until further notice.

this was the post I was refering to, and in it, TAR added the part about KE not wanting to random vote. it appears he was purposely trying to twist KE's post to make him seem scummy, and this is a scumtell on TAR to me.Tarhalindur wrote:
Let me get this straight.voting for someone because they are voting for me is barely more than random.
As far as I can tell, you are implying that OMGUS is a valid reason to vote someone, albeit a very weak one. This, in turn, implies that voting for you is a weak scumtell.
1) Is this logic flawed, and if so why?
2) If OMGUS is a valid reason to vote someone and you haven't found any more valid reasons for voting, why aren't you voting with OMGUS as your justification.

edit to the post above.
The original quote was KE's, and the rest was suposed to be Tar's response to it, as well as the next part where he quotes KE saying he does not like to random vote.
This was all in post 81 for those who wish to go back and see it.

one last note
FOS: Timeater and Farkinsoup
Tim: some of your reasons seem reaching to me in the earlier posts
Fark: You seem to be the guy trying to direct traffic from the sidelines to avoid taking the lead on a case, which if it turns out a townie, you dont want all the suspicion and blame to fall on you.
Question for Mac:
What was the reference in Season 5 you were referring to. I would like to know, even if, in your opinion, it didnt apply. It may help anyway.

final post for now
those are my top three suspects for day one so far. I just ran out of time to accumlate a pbpa case or whatnot on the final two, or more reasons for the 1st one.
So for now, my FOS'es are my top three suspects. Period.
Havent gotten close to deciding who to vote for though.

It's actually from early season 4, and I think it wouldn't be pro-town to reveal the reference at this point. It still applies, and I was wondering if Tim had picked up on it or not. Apparantly he hadn't. Apologies for being vague.Grimmy wrote:Question for Mac:
