Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Again Mala/Greeting: Who else is scum?ScumBlade's eloquent performance left me utterly disoriented, debased, depraved and sent me spiraling into a horrific murky abyss with emotional turmoil and immense despair as my only companions until slowly I suffocate in my own gloom, surrounded by failure. I had a suspicion based on Day 1 activity. I don't not disagree with your reasoning though. In post 509, JacksonVirgo wrote:Do you reciprocate my reasoning at all though-

strangematter I feel like has mostly not taken hard stances this game. just lots of "i agree with that" and "I disagree with that". it feels like fake participation
dwlee hopped on toog for some reason like "he is not even making an attempt at being game advancing" which, idk feels like a very shallow read. that is, both the notion that toog has done nothing to advance the game, and the notion that, if he hasn't, that means he is scum. both notions feel shallow. yet he's remained tunneled on toog and noone else since the beginning. idk if this is really the kind of play I expect from town!lee
math apparently is some kind of delayed vig? but yeah d1 I was leaning scum on him because his reasoning makes no sense to me this game yet he sort of was trying to, like, bully people into just accepting it? did not feel town motivatedretired...?-

In post 418, Vanderscamp wrote:I strongly dislike wavemode not giving any reasoning at all for that readlist
huh. really? the number of them?In post 446, Vanderscamp wrote:I dislike the number of reads that wave gave. If it had been a small number or like a single unexplained read on someone I don't think I would have minded that much, but I disliked a comprehensive list that came with nothing else.
It felt like there was a disconnect between a list that implies a strong awareness of what's happening in the game, versus a level of involvement/explanation that implies little or no awareness.
if you'd said something like "I don't like the lack of transparency" I'd think, well ok I can see what you're saying, it's just a bad read
but the number? lol so just for my reference, in the future if I'm writing a reads post with no justifications added, what quantity of names is your limit? 6, 7? but 8+ names then the post is bad? where's the cutoff lol. this logic is weird
in any case, you've probably never played with me but I always drop a full list at some point, usually pretty early on. it's just how I play. even if on the surface you think I have "little to no awareness" of what's happening (in fact I often feel like I'm the only person actually reading the damn game...)retired...?-

I'm not very sure, but I'll post whatever I have at the moment.
I think you're not, otherwise you wouldn't be trying to prompt me to look into other players, which I have neglected a bit. Maybe this is town confirmation bias, because I believe your claim and so I see your posts in a more towny way than I maybe should.
I thinkJacksonVirgois a potential candidate and had you not poisoned them, I would have been quite willing to vote them out too. But since that happened, I think it's just about enough to say that you don't need to cure them and we just wait for them to die. There's a noticeable contrast between their behavior in Day 1 and Day 2. In Day 1 he contributeda lotand in Day 2 he's just posting absolute nonsense. If I were town in that position, I would probably be doing my best to either convince you to cure me or if that's not possible, at least give town something to analyse after my death. I think their reaction to being poisoned is an attempt to make everyone think that they don't care and so an attempt at reverse psychology. I say we just wait it out, perhaps that's the second scum we're looking for.
I would be willing to vote outCat Scratch Feverfor sheeping and pocketingVanderscamp.
In post 419, Vanderscamp wrote: This is all somewhat reasonable up until the point where Greeting gets that reaction and then takes the line of "from this reaction it looks as though I was right about you faking confidence," when I feel like even in the world where Mala was scum and the confidence was not actually town indicative, Mala was VERY obviously being genuine about not faking it.
That particular stance from Greeting seems extremely disingenuous.
Note thatIn post 493, Cat Scratch Fever wrote: Greeting - they seem to be pushing people for doing weird/bizarre things that are anti-town while ignoring the town things about them --->nullscum
Vanders - we seem to be agreeing on Mala and Greeting, which normally wouldn't sway me much in one direction or another, but I need reads that are not null so I'll bump them up a bit. 446 is annoying logic but probably NAI given the 2012 join date. interested in why dwlee is town though.Vanderscampdid not vote me, butCat Scratch FeverusedVanderscamp's reasoning and then sheepedMalakittensinto voting me. That's a great way to miseliminate town without bringing much attention to themselves.

At the moment I am townreadingandMathBlade.Vanderscamp
I am soft townreadingandStrangeMatter.wavemode
I am null or null/scum on rest.
Which means that the scums should be here:
Toogeloo
Cat Scratch Fever
MegAzumarill
Malakittens
Dwlee99
JacksonVirgo
MegAzumarillis pinging me for not trying very hard in this game. They are a very apt player as both alignments and in my experience they're bold hunting down both scum and town. But in recent games they seem to have just lost enthusiasm. Not sure if this is AI though.-

From my experience, scum is more likely to fight their impending doom than town. I couldn't give two shots if people wanty death as town, but as scum I try to avoid being in that position to begin with.In post 518, Greeting wrote:If I were town in that position, I would probably be doing my best to either convince you to cure me or if that's not possible, at least give town something to analyse after my death.-

I did actually, in post 314.In post 467, StrangeMatter wrote: Alright, that makes sense. However what sticks out to me and something I noted throughout all this is...I noted from looking through ISO as well is that you really didn't poke or prod into that much, just kind of accused. Which is odd in a scummy way (but I still think both of you are town) that just jumped onto something you find scummy for it.-

I mean, greeting is obvtowning at this point but sure I can explain. I think generally I don't necessarily see scum!greeting reacting so aggressively and doubling down in 356 and subsequent posts and sort of, twisting the knife, if you will, on the personal issues mala referenced. if he's scum he probably knows that the push on mala would have much better optics if he had just called it a misunderstanding and de-escalated the matter. the knee-jerk reaction of calling mala an emotional blackmailer rather than keeping things civil, feels more likely to come from town than scumIn post 493, Cat Scratch Fever wrote:interested in why they think Toog and Greeting are town
as for toog, I townread his tone. he's reacting exactly how I've seen lots of townies react when in his position facing a d1 tunneler like mathblade. and he seems mostly just exasperated with the situation, than trying to play nice and avoid getting eliminatedretired...?-

If the fairly strong reason appears as a result of particular action, there is no fairly strong reason for me to point out before the action happens. I did, however, start looking at their actions more closely since they first interacted with my 215.In post 469, StrangeMatter wrote: And what I mean is odd about it is that you didn't really prod around Malakittens with your read, which to me indicates at the minimum a fairly strong reason to point if you are right or not about solving a person's alignment.-
