Still debating on just how far to push Tunnel. Despite my reasoning earlier, another possible tactic could be to apply pressure - to get us up to 7/9 or 8/9 and hope that it'll push the other team into trying to come up with a stretch that they can't cover.

It's a safe bet that Tunnel wasn't just intended as a singleton, at least.

Should we do Torch next or Alps? Or does anything else there stick out as particularly tunnel-y?

The first big question: are we going for #9?

If we are, then we can start openly considering our opponents' remaining clue as well as our own.
If we aren't, then the less said about the clues in general, the better.

I've got at least one additional possible for Tunnel in addition to what we've already discussed.

LINE isn't a gimme. Tunnels can be set out in a line, but they aren't always. Plus LINE has casino equity (betting lines, line payouts on a slot machine).

STRAW is another possibility. Like a drinking straw - tunnels and straws are both hollow (always) and rounded (usually).

Pretty much any four-clue at this point is going to be a stretch. The question is which way does it stretch.

IRON and STRAW both at least have the virtue of not being likely to be hits for Casino.
